The boy stayed in his slightly curled up position for a while. He knew the angel didn't mean to say that so insensitively but it still hurt him, still hurt have to be reminded that he couldn't go to town.
" It's okay.." He said softly, " everyone sort of assumes that just cause I look human means I can go to town easily. How would you have known anyways." He added on because it was true. How could she have known, they we're just fooling around not really paying attention to each other words. He looked up at her and brought the bowl of candy between them, trying to hint at the idea of sharing.

No, it was not ‘okay’. Being careless wasn’t a luxury she would let herself afford anymore. People forgave her too easily, at least in her mind. When she talks without thinking, well… the angel visibly cringed at the screeching of metal to the screams of silence in her head. She nearly didn’t notice the boy slide the candy bowl in between them in an effort to share. Once she did, her sweet tooth was nowhere near as strong as usual, but anything was better than the bitter taste left in her mouth.

Eve tentatively took a piece of candy out of the bowl and smiled at the kind gesture. “Uh, thanks.” she said, opening the wrapper. She looked back at him, realizing she couldn’t connect a name to his face. “Did I ever get your name? You can call me Eve.”
