I recommend anything by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. Vampires, shifters, sorcery, oh my. Also canon F/F couple and non-heterosexual characters.

My go to book rec is the Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher. His other series Codex Alera is great too, and more fantasy based, but I'll never get tired of reading about Chicago's only wizard private investigator Harry Dresden.
