How to Tame Your Dragon

She snaps her wide maw at me
Tries to gobble up my flesh
But the armor placed on top me
Keeps me from that certain death
Each roar spits out hot magma
Every hiss a plume of smoke
I use no force to fight her
This dragon I won't smote
When I come up to her
Red eyes like suns do narrow
And scales as black as brimstone
Rise like a house cats hackles
I walk up to her slowly
My arms stretched out so wide
I hold this monster tenderly
I tell her that she's mine
Despite the growl she makes at me
She wears her collar well
For I didn't need a sword to tame her
Just a false love spell



Fairytale
--------------

A princess
A knight
A dragon
Are normally the cast
Of any classic fairytale
That comes from our world's past
But once there was a dragon
Who never took a princess
Instead she was the damsel
And left orphaned by her parents
Along then came our knight
Not to slay the beast
But to cast a spell and make her small
To make our dragon weak
Together they did travel
And grow to love another
In ways beyond how they were told
Despite both being monsters
Now the dragon is the dragon
And the knight a silly girl
No princess comes between them
In this dark and newer world
