"Can I have a flower, please?" Cirrus interrupted, childlike delight eminent on their pale face. Despite not knowing a lot about plants, they loved anything colourful and flowers fit that criteria well. "Just one."

Evelyn stopped babbling once the other spoke up, and she slowly nodded, holding the wicker basket out to them, "Of course. Take any flower of your choosing. Pick carefully. I know you most likely have no worries with poison, but some of these flowers are lovely... but entirely lethal." She explained, her voice taking on a rather foreboding tone for a moment, though it wasn't exactly very noticeable.

Cirrus nodded, heeding Evelyn's warning. They decided on a pretty blue flower and placed it in their hair, making sure to keep the petals out of the water. "This one isn't poisonous, right?" They checked, hoping that their judgement had been sound.

Evelyn shook her head, "No, that one is perfectly harmless! You shouldn't have anything to worry about with that one." She paused, "In fact, that one is a favorite of mine. Good choice."

Cirrus beamed, happy that Evelyn liked their choice. They suddenly remembered something that she had said earlier. "You mentioned a bakery? What do you make?"

"I make all sorts of things! Cakes, pastries, bread, cookies, rolls, fudge- plenty of food!" Evelyn explained, making excited gesticulations as she spoke.

"I bet it tastes great." Cirrus responded wistfully. "I've never been able to eat anything, but I've heard that it's great. They supposed that sugary foods would taste much like a sugary drink, but wasn't too sure.
"I love the smell of pastries, though!" They soon added after a pause, their voice back to the usual happy tone.

She rubbed the back of her head out of a bashful quirk, "Oh? Well how nice of you to say!" She paused, "What a shame. Though I can assure you that your guesses are correct. The sweetest icing- So tasty it could rot your teeth and brain!" Evelyn's lilting tone seemed to come out like a song, odd enough.
She looked over at the other after having momentarily closing her eyes, "Perhaps you'd like a short visit? Take a whiff of every flavor- anything but plain!"

Cirrus nodded enthusiastically at the offer, replying quickly. "I'd love to!" They had never been to a bakery since they would have no reason to buy food, but the idea of visiting one still seemed very appealing.

Evelyn chuckled before nodding, "Well with all of that business behind us, shall we be off?" She chirped, motioning for the other to follow her down the sidewalk, "It's only a few blocks away considering I was on my way home! I'm sure you'll enjoy your time there."

Cirrus skipped along the pavement behind Evelyn, droplets of water flying off their hair at each bounce. They took the chance to get a good look at her, remembering some of the words that they had caught earlier.
"Youre made entirely of wax? Like I am with water?" Cirrus suddenly blurted out.

Evelyn stopped her bubbly sauntering, putting on a rather pensive expression. Tilting her head to the side, it took her a few moments of silence to come across a decent answer. In fact, it was something she rarely questioned.
"Perhaps I am! I wasn't always like this, you see. This wax just seemed to come along with the 'cult package'. Though..." She trailed off, running her fingers along her skin. Could it even be called such a thing? Her hands moved to her hair then to her shoulders where the small gems were, "I am mostly wax. I am plenty of things!" She said, her tone a bit more light as opposed to how it was a few seconds ago.

"Oh yes, the 'cult package'-" Cirrus repeated, breaking off to reach out and touch her waxy hair. "You don't mind if I touch your hair, right?" They didn't wait for an answer, carrying right on with their original point. "-I think that it brought some drastic changes for everybody. For me it helped me keep a form and be less of a shapeless cloud of water."

She stopped for a moment as if her mind had to process the query a bit longer than usual. It was an odd request and made her feel a twinge of embarrassment, "I wouldn't mind at all, I suppose!" She replied, laughing a bit afterwards. Nonetheless, Evelyn listened, rather intruiged by the other, "How interesting!"
Up ahead was the bakery, two lanterns on either side of the door were lit, flickering in the slight breeze.

Cirrus walked beside Evelyn, almost at the bakery and wondering what the bakery would hold. They might have seen pictures of one before, but wouldn't have had reason to pay them much attention.
Finding themself in front of the bakery, Cirrus looked expectantly at Evelyn and waited for her to unlock the door.
