She shut the door behind her with a loud slam, face scrunched up in annoyance. A mix of different blood colors coated the Toy's clothes and the few bits of skin she showed and again she shuddered. Disgusting disgusting disgusting. She'd touched, them, accidentally let her skin come in contact with those rotten little rats and now her flesh was crawling. Rayne stripped off the elbow length black gloves she normally wore, the accessories drenched in blood and viscera.
Aiden had told her to get information about the damned graffiti from the from the captured cultists. And she'd tried. Ripped an antlered girls stomach out of her throat and almost crushed the skulls of several other creatures. They were thankful the multi-eyed deer girl had healing abilities because if they didn't Rayne would have killed them all. Each strike, each bite and injection of the lethal venom she got from being bonded with a Basilisk, every second she was in there became worse for the captured. Flithy, flithy they were all flithy it was all their faults. All of them.
Rayne pulled down her mask and vomitted against the side of the wall. A bath. She needed a horribly long bath and lots of bleach before she would ever be able to get the feel of those monsters out of her skin.
But she'd gotten the information. She'd managed to find out the cult members had made a group, the C.U.T, and that they were seeing themselves as the rebellion to the Puppeteers takeover. A thought that had the Toy sneering despite her still churning stomach. They thought a pair of scissors was enough to cut those steel cables Liam and Lance had founded their organization with? She gave a bitter laugh at the thought.
No. Nothing could cut through those entangling lines of fate. Once they were wrapped around you, you either succumbed or used them to your own advantage. A lesson the woman had learned long, long ago.

It was surprisingly easy to get through the cult. Any puppeteers she came across didn't even bother to stop her. Could be because she glared at anyone that came near, but who knew.
As she got closer to where other cult members were being held, the amount of people she came across thinned out. It was possible that this would be an easy in and out, but luck wasn't on her side. Just at the end of the hall she saw a thin woman leaning outside the supposed room. Keeping the cold exterior, Chronic made her way up to the woman. "Are you the guard?"

Wiping her mouth with the back of her hand Rayne eyed the cold looking woman and hissed. One added benefit of being bonded with a snake beast, infrared vision. Normally it hurt to see like that, the bright colors incredibly headache inducing, hence the mask. It helped dull what she could see like that and also kept her venom from leaving the vicinity of her mouth.
But, yes, infrared vision. It was what made her sneer again and stand up, ignoring her own sick and focusing on the creature before her. "Doesssn't it matter sssince you don't look like you're one of oursss." Vaguely she wished she had Cy there to just bite the other in half, but now she was a in a foul mood and wanted to break the white haired cultist with her own two hands.

Chronic rolled her eyes and snarled. "Get off your high horse. I am one of you, you idiot." Either this one wasn't an idiot or just trying to pick a fight. "I'm here on orders."

"Not our ordersss bitch." Rayne rolled her shoulders slightly. "And you came here at the wrong time. I'll give you the chance to run or you can jussst face your inevitable death like a good mousssey."

Chronic sighed, allowing her face to drop in a lazy grin. "You know, I was really trying here," she teased. "What gave me away?"

Her shoulders dropped. "I keep forgetting about body heat," she mumbled more to herself than the woman. "Yeah, I guess I am here to ressscue them. So, if you could be a dear and go away, that would be great." She gave the woman a broad smile and a pair of thumbs up.

"Ha ha. Really you're jussst hilariousss." Her body turned so it was pointed sideways at the other, her feet sliding into a position that would give her better momentum to attack. She didn't know what the other could do- and charging in blindly would cause more trouble than she needed but she also wanted to fight. Her mood was sour and though she would regret touching the other later, she couldn't care now.

"Does that mean my charm and wit has convinced you to go away? Cause that would be wonderful." Gold eyes narrowed slightly as she watched the woman move to a fighting stance. Unfortunate.

Her brows furrowed and Rayne had to refrain from hissing at the look the cultist gave her. Forcing herself to breathe steadily she relaxed, each limb and her spine making a smooth transition from still to poised, her arms raised and ready to defend. "Not in the ssslightessst. You have two optionsss. Either leave or die."

A chuckle ripped from her. "I can't do either." She fingered the mask on her side absentmindedly. "Now go. I rather not fight if I can help it."

"Thossse optionsss weren't for me. I'm not leaving and if you aren't either than a ssshame for you."
Rayne had given up being patient, she was going to have to deal with whatever this woman could do sooner or later. She stilled before springing into action and running at the cold woman, moving to punch her in the gut before pivoting on her heel at the last second and kicking out at her knee caps.

Chronic bent with the force of the punch, eyes widening as on of her knee cap splintered at the force. She feel to the floor with a grunt. "You're faster than I expected," she mumbled as she got back on her feet. The knee healed, warming as it did so.

Normally she would have continued attacking- normally the person she was attacking wouldn't have snapped their body back into place and be talking as if they got a paper cut. This break from what she considered "normal" threw Rayne off enough that she stepped back and practically gawked at the other. "What the actual hell." Was all she could say.
