- So Yarran was born in Australia to an Aboriginal mother and a French father. As time went on, Yarran began to favor his French side of the family more than his aboriginal because for some reason his mother had a “bad feeling” about him and didn’t go within a certain distance of him after Yarran didn’t need to be breastfed anymore.
- Simone’s father stuck around for awhile in hopes that she would come around, but she didn’t, despite everyone’s best efforts. So, finally, at age 9, when Yarran began identifying as female and was rejected even further by their own mother, their father and aunt picked up and left for France.
- In France, age 10, finding out that her “nephew” wasn’t cisgender, Yarran’s aunt came out to them as a trans woman and Yarran, who had always thought their aunt was beautiful and kind hugged her very tightly. This woman accepted them like their own mother hadn’t, and that meant a lot. They went with her to get their name legally changed from Yarran Delacroix to Simone Delacroix. Simone was placed on puberty blockers.
- They lived together in France for 6 years, and at age 16, the three packed up and moved to America for a change of pace and for other magical teachings and new exposure (namely a "educational family outing" where they went to meet Mariana, the Law of Nature, a forest deity. its a long-term family tradition.)
- In America, Simone got their first job. Because of another recent gender issue, they decided to go under as female but didn’t really wholly identify as female or male anymore. Actually, it was more fluid between the two, with weird spots in-between. Now being caught up with gender slang, they identified themselves as genderfluid.
- A year later, age 17, their father died in a car crash on the way home from work. Grieving his death, Simone gathered up his bottles of cologne, his watch, pictures of him and shrunk down his staff so that they could put them in a box. Both Simone and their aunt cried together and shared a bed for the following few months until they were past the process.
- And yet again, a year later, their aunt died when she was *brutally murdered* during a break-in. Simone found the body when they got back from work and couldn't bear to look around for what else happened but they later found out anyway).
- Devastated, Simone grabbed family photos, old perfume bottles, what was left of her jewelry and her favorite headbands and put them into the box. They were sobbing buckets and box in hand, about half a year later, diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder, Acute Anxiety (and now with PTSD), they charged into the woods near their house with every intention of getting lost and dying. But instead, they found the cult.
- after joining, they mostly keep to themselves until they end up accidentally meeting Kuiper and forging a wonderful, slightly unexpected friendship with him, they see brighter days but it doesn't automatically fix their problems, though it definitely helps
