There was a slight rustling sound as Laevith slid through her portal and into the library. The last time she had tried to fight Jeu, it had been in her domain and Laevith had deemed it unwise to attempt to continue there, but here she may have a chance. She exchanged her long tail for legs without a falter in her pace and, heading toward where Jeu was, summoned a khopesh in one hand and a throwing knife in the other. Peering around a bookshelf, she saw her target browsing with the cloak that she had won. With a silent snarl, Laevith pulled her arm back and threw it at Jeu's back with as much force as she could muster.

Seeing Jeu's fear, Laevith's face split into a wide grin, baring her sharp teeth. She pressed her palm against a wall, and it collapsed under her hand to create a dark swirling void. She stepped through it and emerged outside of the doorway to the library. Twirling her khopesh in her hand, she slammed the door open from the outside and widened her grotesque smile at Jeu. "What's wrong, dear?" She called out, pointing her blade at her fleeing foe. "Not up to one of my games?" she almost purred.

Laevith almost stepped back when Jeu disappeared, but she had learned from years of experience to never step back in the face of a foe. She grinned lopsidedly, more genuinely than her earlier smile, then laughed out loud instead of answering Jeu's question when she disappeared. So she did have some more tricks up her ridiculously long sleeve after all. Well, she had to admit that this was hardly a fair game, but that didn't mean that this wasn't fun.
She stepped forward and swept her blade across the air in front of her just above her waistline. It was done almost casually, and even as she had stopped laughing, the smile still remained.

Laevith's grin disappeared when she saw that Jeu had gone, and she closed her eyes, listening. The sound of a large book falling surprised her, but she ignored it, only trusting what she was sure wasn't a diversion.
She could hear breathing, the rustle of fabric that she was now familiar with, and she moved between the shelves, her eyes wide open again.
Ah, there you are, she thought as she looked up, confirming what her other senses had told her. She drew another throwing knife and hurled it towards where she could see, with her sharp eyesight, the faintest glimmers of candles.

I missed, Laevith thought. That's a shame, but it wouldn't have made a difference with that cloak. She gasped when Jeu phased through her, almost dropping her blade. She had never had anyone phase through her before, and it made her feel cold; something she hated. As she clutched the front of her shirt, she braced the palm of her hand against a wall, and it collapsed under her hand to create another portal. She pulled a shorter knife from it and moved forward again, stepping quickly with her long legs but seeming to still be slithering. She could hear Jeu's breathing and she moved in that direction down the halls. "Where are you?" She called out in a sing-song voice, baring her teeth in another gleeful grin.

Laevith ran forward, her grip on her knives tight and her knuckles pale. She felt much more tired after Jeu had ran through her and even if it wasn't enough to stop her, it was enough to make her more tired than she should be. Jeu's hoarse voice echoed through the halls and she skidded to a stop in front of her, holding her knives ready but not lifting them into a complete offensive stance.
"What's this," she said, not particularly loudly but loud enough for Jeu to hear her. "Are you going to play my game?" Her words were phrased as questions but her tone was firm, and she raised her eyebrows as she stepped slowly forward. There was a certain degree of wariness now. Jeu obviously wasn't skilled at combat, but she seems desperate enough to pull something crazy. For a moment, Laevith questioned her decision to attack Jeu. It's not as if she could do much more than scare her; she wouldn't want to make any trouble by killing someone, even if she could.

After a while, Laevith sat up from where she had collapsed, screaming. She had stumbled backwards when Jeu did...whatever it was that she did, crashing into the walls. Her knives were rammed into the walls, where she had stabbed them into the walls to steady herself. The ringing in her skull echoed for a few more minutes, and when it cleared she found that she was on the ground a ways down the hall, her throat sore from screaming. She disentangled her hands from her hair, where she hadn't realized she'd been clutching her head, and stood up again shakily. She walked unsteadily towards where Jeu was lying.
Laevith crouched down next to where Jeu was splayed out on the ground and stared at her. It would be so easy to simply take the cloak now, and her spine too while she was at it. After a moment, she sighed. She had heard about Jeu's ability to make her opponents unable to take back the things she had won from them for a certain amount of time, and she had no idea how long that ability would last.
"You know," she said, "I respect that you tried your best." She raised one of her knives, which she had tugged out of the wall, intending to slam it into Jeu's skull, but her voice echoed again; "leave me alone". She stumbled, and rammed the knife into the ground next to head.
"Not bad," Laevith muttered, standing up straight again and pressing her palm against the wall. It collapsed under her hand, and she stepped through her portal, glancing backwards again at Jeu and her cloak before the portal closed behind her.
