It was evening as Dante slept soundly, his chest rising and falling with each breath. Enfer on the other hand was wide awake as he stared at the golden chain of the shapeshifters pocket watch he kept in his coat pocket. He kept telling himself this was a bad idea, but it was for a good reason. With a sigh, he slowly approached Dante on all fours, and used one of his claws to hook the chain and pull it out of his pocket.
He looked to the shapeshifter sadly and ran off, putting the watch into his pocket, dropping to all fours to run faster.
It wasn't long before the hybrid made his way down to the catacombs, searching for the person who held his precious treasure.

Enfer had approached the door that led to Jeu's room, mainly by following her scent, but that wasn't important at the moment. He put a hand in his pocket, feeling the pocket watch as he lifted a hand and knocked on the door. His tail came to curl around his ankle as he waited. He could feel a dull tightening on his heart and he knew that someone messing with his gem and that is what was going to drive him over the edge, but he held in his anger as his claws began to dig into the palm of his hand

Enfer pulled out the pocket watch and held it to her. "I want to see if I can win back my gem," the hybrid said, feeling a sense of relief when the pressure on his heart went away. His eyes stared at the sapphire around her neck and watched it pulsed with the life he longed to feel once again.
"If you do not wish to accept my challenge then I'll leave," The hybrid kept his tail down to show he wasn't a threat. All of his emotions were either shown through how bright his flame was or how his tail was positioned.

Enfer felt a vein pulse, as his tail slammed against the ground, creating a crack that slowly spidered out. The hybrid put on a fake smile as he said,"this belongs to Dante...he told me it belong to his foster family before they died," Enfer explained. The hybrid looked at the golden watch in his hand, looking at the name Valkerie engraved on the back.

Enfer felt his scales darken. This only happened when he got too cold. "Let's just say I borrowed it..." Enfer wasn't the kind of person to lie as he sighed and rubbed his temples. "Okay...I stole it when he was asleep...please just don't make a smart comment, I'm not in the best of moods and I know I'm gonna get a mouthful when Dante wakes up," Enfer stated.
"Anyways, yes this is real," Enfer said, tapping on the gold with a claw, knowing it would warp if it was fools gold or anything else.

"Yeah I understand..." Enfer blew a puff of smoke out his mouth to calm himself. Enfer tossed the watch up and down, catching it by its chain. "Y'know it's pretty amazing to find a golden pocket watch that has a music box in it," Enfer said. He was mainly just saying his thoughts out loud as he opened the watch and listened to the melody that played for a brief second before he closed it.

"I'll take the dark blue pieces," Enfer said. "And if I had my memories, I would know more about the watch now wouldn't I?" Enfer huffed, another puff of smoke coming out of his nose this time. He usually does this when he's in dragon form, but he only does it in humanoid form if he's extremely irritated. "...Sorry about that, I'm usually one to keep my temper in check," Enfer laughed awkwardly, scratching at the back of his head as he handed over the watch.
"Are you going to make the first move or myself," Enfer rested his head in the palm of his hand as he examined the pieces, he was greatly amused by the vibrant colors of them. He eventually zoned out for a brief second before blinking a few times and coming back into focus.

"Okay then..." Enfer said. He reach for his piece on C3 then moved it to D4. He rested his head in the palm of his hand again, feeling unnaturally relaxed at the moment. His thoughts weren't really on winning at the moment, he just wanted to keep himself from stressing by just pretending it was a normal game. There were no bets or anything. Just a normal little game.

Enfer raised an eyebrow at Jeu's expression but he just waved it off as he reached for another piece on the board. He moved G3 to H4 and waited. His smile never faultered as he waited for Jeu's next move. His tail began flicking too side to side like a metronome as he waited patiently.

"No...I'm just a little more relaxed..." The hybrid said. He moved his piece from H4 to G5. "Why would you ask such a question?" Enfer asked. He was partially confused and partially knew what he was doing. It was true without the shapeshifter being here, he was calm, but he still felt a little bit of unease as he waited for the next move.

"I don't really know myself...I had seen Dante take some of my things and I was very suspiscious of him so I followed and then all this happened."
Enfer moved his piece from B2 to C3, waiting for the next move as he continued to speak.
"After all that chaos that happened last time I'm still a little unnerved by Dante touching my things in my hoard, and I know when somethings missing, not many people think I'm organized with all the things I've collected but everything in my hoard is in a specific place in my cavern."

Enfer raised an eyebrow. "Hm...I wonder why...Dante can say things he doesn't mean," Enfer said, moving H2 to G3. The hybrid sighed, blowing out a few smoke rings away from the board. "Dante can be such a cocky bastard from time to time, but he still knows the errors of his mistakes," Enfer explained. He looked to the layout of all the pieces, he was very interested to see how this game would turn out in the end.

"Well...Dante did something for me when I was much younger that you may not see as important but to my clan was a great thing," Enfer said, moving C1 to B2. "But he also did something horrible that made me want to rip him limb from limb," Enfer dug his claws into the palm of his hand.

"It took you long enough," Enfer said, moving his piece from F2 to G3. He wasn't really surprised by the double jump since it was a pretty obvious move to make. "In my clan, cannibalism is an obvious taboo so when I first met Dante, he possessed me and killed the one member of our clan who committed the sin. The bad thing is that this happened to be my father, the alpha of our clan and the main reason why we were having a rivalry between the others," Enfer explained.
"I was devastated by this, but also relieved since I could see my mate again without having to keep it a secret and I had to become the new leader, but I let my mother keep the title and keep everything in order while I'm here."

"I'm not being disrespectful," Enfer said, putting his hands up in defense. He didn't understand why she was so angry when he was stating the obvious. He moved his piece from G3 to H4. His tail continued to flick from side to side.
