tarquinEcho silently sat on the small grass covered ledge that overlooked the dirt road, the moon giving her a beautiful glow. She kicked her feet back and forth and looked at the path under her, willing her friend to show up. She was waiting for a few hours on the most special person in her life; her best friend. Tarquin had been gone for almost a hundred years and she was excited for his return. Soon the sixteen year old could hear light footsteps coming her way. She looked back down at the path and smiled, a dark silhouette was walking under her ledge. She jumped from the ledge, her white knee length dress billowing around (nothing dirty) and her black leather boots (rain boot style) hit the ground silently. Her messy brown curls bounced from their place below her shoulders and she smiled. "It's about time."

Tarquin kept moving down the road, his moderate speed not at all a worry to him. He knew who was waiting for him, and he was excited to see her, but he wanted to enjoy the walk for once. He had been gone to England for a while, the Croglin Grange council having kept him for a few (hundred) years. Soon his eyes zoned in on a figure sitting on a ledge above the road. He smirked and kept walking.
As soon as he passed under the ledge he heard the figure move. A second later someone landed in front of him, curly hair flying. Her boots stirred up a little dust and she placed her hand on her hip. "It's about time." He could hear the smile in her voice. "I couldn't help it, the moon was too beautiful not to stare." He joked back. "Hi Echo."

Echo's smile widened and she tackle jumped the boy, laughing when he easily caught her and returned the hug. "Tarquin! I missed you!" She wrapped her arms around his neck and smiled again as he spun her around. "So how was the council? Were you made a Prince? It's been a hundred years you know." She rambled on. Her eyes brightened with excitement and happiness rolled off her in waves.

Tarquin laughed at the girl and sat her back on her own feet. "The Council was interesting this time. And yes, I am now a Prince. A hundred years flies. I mean, you're what, 17, 18 now? You're all grown up! Can't call you a cute bean now. More like a beautiful beanstalk." He smiled at her and ruffled her curls. A light blush settled on his cheeks. "So....do you have a place to stay?" He asked, changing the subject as quickly as he could

Echo blushed and ducked her head down and began to walk. "I have my treehouse. You still live in that cave, don't you? The one that can move around?" She asked. A few moments later she looked up, her blushed having settled to a light pink. There were secrets and memories between her and Tarquin, and he hid his thoughts well.

Tarquin have a slight nod and a smile, happy that she remembered. "Yup. But i think I should redecorate it soon, it's practically empty and I want it to be comfortable for people coming over and staying the night." He wiggled his eyebrows at the last statement, looking down at the girl

Echo laughed at his antics and lightly pushed his arm, shaking her head. "Well maybe I'll help. I mean, I have nothing to do and there are some all night stores open around here." To prove her point she pointed to a furniture place. "Come on." She grabbed his hand and tugged him after her.

He smiled, allowing himself to be pulled. "I need two couches and a bed, a few tables maybe." Soon he was pointing at red and black couches, velvet covering. Black and stone washed tables were chosen as well.

Echo smiled at his choices, the colors an amazing match. She pointed to a few stone torch handles and a silver chandelier. "That'd be beautiful. Oh, and how about this red rug?"

Tarquin laughed at how much fun she was having. "I like all of them. Come on, let's go tell them what we picked and pay." He grabbed her hand this time, dragging her along. He pulled out a few golden coins and quickly paid. "So now we wait and this will be shipped tomorrow. Want to hang out at my place tonight?"
