Scorpius poured Tea more tea before frowning at that Tea couldn't eat food. "I am sorry. There are many different ways you can taste the food without eating any though, like taste bubbles, which are big balls of air that you can taste, and we can make them Tate like anything. If I can finally get the tech down and make one, I'll be sure to make sure you're the first to try it. He swished his tail back and forth inquisitively before answering, "No, not unless I'm in another form, but you don't need to worry about that! Not for awhile at least. My entourage has plenty of poison already too, though it is non-lethal most of the time and will just knock someone out for awhile."

Tea smiled. "That actually sounds like a wonderful idea. Is that a project you've been working on long, or something new you just picked up?" He thought over what Scorpius had said about poison. He was fascinated. "That sounds useful." And he was glad Scorpius was a friend, or else he might have used that on him at some point.
Funny. He had already begun to see the other as a friend.

"Taste bubbles? They're a thing which I thought up one day, but it's a long way from being done. All the stuff is still very much a prototype." He sipped more Tea before adjusting his tie and smiling at Tea. Oddly enough, Scorpius was actually calm for once around a new acquaintance. Ever since he had been divorced, he had grown paranoid and restless, not trusting anyone, but Tea made him feel safe, and he felt that he could open up more to the tall figure sitting across from him. "Oh yes, the poison comes in handy when someone tries to be smart and attempt an assassination. They never get a scratch on me though, my bodyguards are you good for them."

Tea took that into consideration, then asked out of curiosity, "How do you manage your kingdom from here? I assume it's across the ocean, if not on another plane altogether." He couldn't imagine ruling anything. He was hardly managing his own life let alone a kingdom, or a faction. "That must be stressful." Scorpius must miss his people. At the very least, that's what Tea would think. For all he knew, the other had been a reluctant monarch. He noted the other's increased comfort with him and quickly added, "If I'm prying, please stop me. I just really like hearing about other people and their lives." Lives he had never gotten to witness or create. Lives filled with freedom and privilege. How he longed for a new life sometimes.
Considering the people he got to meet in this one, however, he couldn't really complain too much.

"My kingdom doesn't function like a typical kingdom. I am the king and have absolute rule and authority, but there is an elected group of three individuals who are also elected leaders of their respective factions. Each faction has differing ideas of how to rule and govern the kingdom, but I keep them in check and make the final decision on any legislation or policies that they bring to my attention." Scorpius grabbed his cup of tea, sipping it quietly. "So that's why I don't really need to be around for the kingdom to run, those three will take care of any problems, and no, the kingdom isn't that far from here, actually. It's north of the cult building, but I don't want to disclose its actual location right now. I can tell you it's in a giant sinkhole that is being well camouflaged though. Oh no, you aren't prying, ask away."
He actually felt happy with Tea, a very rare feeling for him, considering the events of his past. It was nice.

"That sounds almost democratic of you." Or oligarch . . . like. He shook his head. That was not at all like how the Puppeteers functioned. Then again, how they functioned tended to vary from Puppet Master to Puppet Master. It truly depended on country and headquarter. "How do scorpions get along out here so well? Or . . . is the whole kingdom scorpions or is it just you?" He prayed that wasn't too rude a question. He truly was curious. Though the concept of a secret society residing close to civilization wasn't new to him, that the Puppeteers had never found them was incredible. He admired the cunning that required.

"We aren't just your typical scorpion species. We are a completely seperate species. We have different 'breeds' though. I am technically human, just blessed with my scorpion features. There is a spell placed on the city, allowing my citizens to maintain a human form." He smiled again, resting back against the chair and truly enjoying his time with the gentle giant.

"So you are actually a scorpion?" That is fascinating. He wondered about the spell, though. "What kinds of scorpions are there?" There had to be as many as there are in the wild.
