Note! He will develop as he's written!
Backstory and previous life
Vesuvio was never originally a haltija, let alone "Vesuvio."
A young boy growing up in a house forgotten by the village, swallowed by the forest and chilled with snow that blanketed the rooftop like feathers, it was a life akin to a bad dream.
The child by the name of Adin, a delicate but strong boy, and a kind older sister named Scilla with a warm heart lived here in their own silence of the forest. Their father, Odin, has been traversing the land of Finland in search of work, ever since their late mother's death from Huntington's disease, an inherited neurological disease that causes nerve cells in the brain to break down over time. Of course, back then ( 1500 ) this was not known of, let alone any other disease, and so she passed away without proper treatment or any knowledge of what was wrong.
Seasons came and went, passing by in Adin and Scilla's lonely youth, only lit by the occasional run through the forest before dusk. One day, while the heavy powder of December piled outside, a cunning white fox slipped past their door in order to seek out warmth, eating their chicken, veal, and other foods that were stored. As daylight flushed into the windows of their ramshackle little home, Scilla found herself dizzy and anxious with thoughts of dread, falling quiet and sick. Adin, only being five while she was eight, tried his hardest to cheer her up with stories and folklore that their father used to tell.
As days drew on, the fox would bring back scraps of food back into their rightful place while the children went about their lives. They scrounged for the food their father had left, quiet and careful to what was rationed. The more food was eaten, the more Scilla would begin foregetting what was happening, her motions faltering and growing weaker and weaker. One night, she had collapsed and grown incapable of moving most of her body, now too weak to even cry for Adin as he slept. As morning drew near, a state of shock sickened the youngest child to see his only best friend now so weak. They had no money, no village to flee to, hardly any water outside of a small frozen brook that lay west of the house, and no herbs to treat such an odd behavior. In a state of nerves and fear, Adin fled to the forest with his fur cloak in search of some sort of item, a plant, berries, anything to work. By his side ran the stealing white fox who carried many plants in his maw, following Adin all the way back to their run down cabin through the thick winter snow. The plants boiled into a nice brew that smelled of cedar and elderberries, it sat warm on Scilla's tongue and put a short lasting smile onto her cold lips. Weeks passed, days cut by with the same routine each and every time. Adin would travel to and fro in and out of the forest with this fox, trying to heal and help his sickly sister who seemed to become less aware as the days passed by. She began to forget him, forget herself, soon even forgetting how to speak as he held close to her tepid, clammy fingers. Adin himself had grown weary and sick from his lack thereof self care, growing feverishly starved without even bothering to treat himself.
"You have given far too much to allow yourself life, young one." he spoke as the snowflakes fell the next fateful year, Arin staring solemnly towards the dark cedar trees while few tufts of snow flickered down to land in his hair, on his lashes, on his fur coat, near twinkling...
"For whatever it is worth, she can still smile." Adin replied, his heartbeat soft in his ears and chest as he began lowering himself slowly to the ground, weak from his restlessness, his hunger, his worries. "I simply need to rest.. for just one moment."
Night time blanketed over the thick winter sky not hours later as Adin rested quietly in the snow, his different skin grown blue and dark in color even with the thick fur of a fox's coat draped around his weak body.
"For her to live, young one, I must request your heart."
Beating like a bird's wings in his chest, slowing beneath his ribs, the young child's heart was sick with weakness, the liveliness of a selfless young boy slowly coming to an end while he held tight to a small scrap of berry twigs.
"So long as you promise she will smile, fox... Then you may."
"She will smile, though, her fondness of her past life, her memories, they will be gone just as well as her sickness."
Filtering around the moonlight through the trees, Adin's small blue eyes stared in a blur towards the glittering constellations, some hidden by clouds that still offered down light snow showers. Closing, now, the last thing he would see was the light of the stars through his eyelashes, his last thought of just how well he may get along with his mom. The daylight passed, and the oldest, now only child, wandered into the forest with curiosity of where the footsteps from her empty house led. Straightening her cloak around her form, the young girl came across the form of a bundle of snow, piling over fox fur that hid the youngest child's body beneath.
All she did was smile.
After this, a few hundred years or so of his body becoming one with the earth year after year, he didn't wake until a silver fox came walking on his grave, on a particularly snowy, starlit night in the forests of Finland. Now nameless, blank, tired, woke a spirit bound to the land by his body. He struggled, writhed, pushing from the soil and stepping back with the aged remains of a fur cloak held around his form. Starlight caught in his hair, on his fingers, lashes, skin, and soon gleamed into a bright burst. Now granted with a celestial healing power, an ability to take care and sacrifice for any being, the creature now known as Vesuvio began a new life in the overgrown Finnish forests on the countryside. As he aged, as he healed and taught, more inhuman and rare traits began to grow and show through. Firm paws on his feet, a thick tail, sharpened canines and pointed ears, He used each and every trait and capability to his advantage. Now, with each held power to protect and be seen as a safe, docile life form, no one organism would have to hurt so long as he was there to attempt and save them.
After a severe deforestation that broke his home, his many plants and animals, Vesuvio was forced to flee after being incapable of saving anything else.
He woke up in the dim of the cult forest after searching for days on end for food, shelter, anything that'd keep his power alive a bit longer.
- more to be developed as negotiated??
Foxes are known in Finnish mythology to be depicted usually as a cunning trickster, but seldom evil.
SIDENOTE I know it's kinda cheesy but I'll expand and work on it later!! This page will remain a work in progress so long as he's developing. Which is always.

Ragnar, Of Monsters and Men
Ragnar, Of Monsters and Men

Gathering particulate matter that he generates (small stars) into plasmic masses ( blue flames ) that help support his healing powers and regenerative abilities of other living things. He is kind, loving, creatures have a natural fondness of him and will flock to him, in which he’ll help them and soak up their pain for himself to bare. He heals as many things as he can, given how his energy isn't that strong.

102, but 24 in appearance
Age You Joined The Cult:
24

haltija

194
*Body Type:
rather slender, more curved and firm at the hips and legs. His thighs are thick and have stretch marks on the inner and outer portions. Note; they are perfect for holding kitties.

*Hair:
An undercut with black hair at the shaved parts, and a wispy grey for the long part. It’s very velvety and a bit thick, but soft as a cloud.
Scars:
no scars !
*Special Physical Attributes:
A long, thick tail that extends from his spine and drapes long onto the ground. This tail, funny enough, holds his energy. Starlight catches from the sky and sticks to his fur, which he has to brush out and collect in jars. Those jars “cool them down” and turn them into blue flames. The stars glitter and make chiming noises when he combs them from his fur. He has long elf ears that lay back casually or perk up when surprised. He has long, sharp black nails, and uses them very rarely. Unless he’s having trouble opening an acorn. He has a mouth full with lovely teeth, and sharp, perfect canines. He’s got a blue mouth and a black tongue, but otherwise it is normal. His flame, or flames, are located in two glass orbs that he wears as earrings, or in the jars on the end of his birch wood staff. Instead of human feet, Vesu has "feet paws" that are terribly soft. The fur fades up to his calf area, and he keeps it under a light blue wrap.
Clothing:
An ombre blue silk button down with black collars and cuffs, both of which are lined with white. He has a soft cotton grey sash with white tassels draped around his hips, to add extra comfort for his tail. He has dark navy blue slacks and dark velvet boots. When working, he wears a cloak that collects stars as well, showing the pagan symbol for earth on the back. The collar/hood and cuffs have thick, big cream fur tufts on them. As for accessories, he has a long birchwood staff with two round jars at the end, held on by string and heavy, thick moss that drips down and wraps around the glass. Those are the jars that hold his flames.
Physical Description Paragraph:
Big periwinkle eyes are never something to be hidden in the wood, simply bouncing like glass fractures against the bustle of a clear, dark brook. The emotion in them pours out like a mirror, granting him a flush of beauty, a pale veil that made him an open embrace to trust. Wary, flickering, bushy fur scatters the sound of twinkling about the garden like waving silver chimes. Some fall to the grass, buried in the life and blooming sprouts where he walked. Why was his gazing as you as he did, a plume of grey swaying to and fro in aggravation while heavy black lashes lowered over the dull light of violet eyes.
You’d best turn down your music, less it scare him more...
Family:
none known of currently. He simply awoke one day draped in a wet cloth and assumed his life. May have been a human at one point
Quirks:
He has a voice that breaks and shakes at some intervals, and he really enjoys collecting little things like rocks or shining marbles. His ears will twitch and quirk when he hears a weird noise, or one he doesn’t like. Loves baths, may fall asleep in the water more often than not. He’s very expressive with his hands, and snorts when he laughs. If you give him a leaf, he’ll fold it into a little box or something or collect a bunch and then give them back to you. He likes giving people gifts. Gifts meaning leaves, pebbles, bones, etc. When given something he'll either eat it, store it, or give it back to you as a gift later. Never hold up food around him if you're planning on eating it sometime later. He will take it from your hand with his mouth and run.
Goals:
To help keep any living organism alive and happy, to try and save what forests have been destroyed
Interests:
any and all forests, animals, greenery, anything soft, throwing rocks in big bodies of water (especially frozen ones) and new foods
edit: chocolate specifically
edit: chocolate specifically
Habits:
smacking people with his tail, scratching his legs and arms too much with his claws when he’s scared, threading and spinning his stars together into little sheets of light- kind of like knitting. He tends to lay on a lot of things.
Vices (drinking, smoking, yogurt):
FOOD. Food. Any new food that is sweet, a junk food, or not an acorn, he would love. If he every tried ranch dressing he’d lose his god damn mind.
What Does Your Room Look Like:
A nest. Consumed with pillows, sheets, quilts, jars. The walls are soaked in ivy and drip from the ceiling by a few inches. He collects anything that shines, and will give them to people if he meets them and finds interest. He collects and hoards pillows, and will bury beneath them and fluff himself up before he sleeps. Something similar to an animal burying itself in sand. He has a record, unscathed, yet he has no idea what it is or what it does, so he uses it as a plate.
Personality:
Bright, vibrant and happy. He may seem cold the second you say something to offput him, and it’ll be obvious if that’s the case. He’s a huge softie who is curious about many things, and uses his powers to help instead of hurt. Can be kind of a dumbass, but he's just pleased to have company
