Echo sat in her specious room, staring out her window at all the snow fall outside. She gave small sigh and stood up, walking over to the glass case holding a single purple rose. Tears appeared in her eyes as she remembered what the rose symbolized. A spell had been placed on her castle, one turning everyone who stayed in it or stepped foot on the grounds into a monster.
She herself had been cursed, with wings and multi colored eyes, the power to read minds. The people of the village near the castle had rumors, she knew, of her being a Siren, a beautiful monster luring men in only to kill them.
But she would never do that. Her tears finally fell over as the way to break the spell came to mind. Love. It's not like she didn't have love, no, it's just that the enchantress who did this was jealous that no one would ever love her the way the Princess's servents love her. Echo sighed again and left the rose, choosing to stand on her balcony and let the snow fall around her.

There was a gentle knock at the door. "Miss? Are you awake?" A muffled voice asked. It was one of the maids, probably to announce something.

Echo looked up, turning around. She took a few steps back into her room. "Come in." She walked back to her bed and sat down, her dress spreading around her. She felt her wings flutter on her back and hastily wiped away tears

The door opened and in stepped a girl with blue wings and black rabbit ears. A part of her face was covered by her hair while the other showed pale skin and a dark brown eye. "Miss." She said, "Lunch has been prepared. If you are ready, shall we go?"

Echo nodded and stood, smoothing the skirt of her dress. "Of course." She took a deep breath and stepped through the door. As she closed it, she heard the howling of the snow storm outside. "Something is coming soon."

"Oh?" The maid tilted her head to the side, her hair following the movement. She was about to place it behind her ear, but stopped herself. "Is it dangerous?" She asked.

Echo thought for a moment. "I don't believe so." She said, unsure. She followed her maid through the halls. "It feels like something big. I hope it's nothing enigmatic." She gave a small huff.

Tarquin wandered through the snowy woods outside of his village, wanting to know why people were so afraid of the forest. "It's a bit cold but that's it." He mumbled to himself, pulling his cloak tighter. Soon enough he stumbled across a large castle. Tarquin stopped and stared, almost staying there all day before he realized he couldn't feel his fingers. He hurried across the giant bridge and knocked, waiting for an answer before he decide to go ahead and head in.

Morphodoe abruptly stopped and stood stiff like a statue. With wide eyes, she whispered to Echo, "Someone has entered the castle." She knew for a fact that there was no need to go outside, as the stocks were full and it was well into winter for crying out loud!
Morphodoe shook her head and went up to Echo, "Miss, you must return to your room. The person might be here to do harm."

Echo looked to Morphodoe with surprise. "A person? There are never people here." She said, disbelief in her voice. "I want to see them...." She trailed off, looking down the hall as if she could see the door. She didn't want to use her mind to search, it hurt a little sometimes

Morphodoe hesitated, "If you are sure, then we'll proceed to the foyer." Admittedly, she wanted to see the person too. It had been a while since anyone different had entered the castle. She just hoped the guards didn't get to them.

Tarquin looked around the large castle, taking in the dark interior. "Hello?" He called through shivering teeth. He stopped walking and took another look around, trying to find a warm spot or room

Morphodoe nodded and lead the way to the foyer. The duo passed through many corridors when Morphodoe stopped in the middle of one of them. She turned to Echo and whispered, "They are around the corner." Right when a 'hello' was called.

Echo listened closely. "Should I answer them? Or stay hidden?" She asked, liking to Morphodoe for answers. She didn't know what to do in situations like this. Should she show herself as a monster? Keep her wings hidden?
