Dante(how about we start this near the strawberry field near Echo's house) Echo sat on the wooden fence surrounding the strawberry field near her treehouse. She was waiting on Dante to show up, wondering what he had wanted to talk about with her. She played with the ladybug that rested on her jeans, laughing as it flew to her tank top. 'Wonder where he is....' She thought, swinging her long legs back and forth.

Smirking to himself, Dante slithered through the shadows, his hand coming out and grabbing her shoulders from behind as he appeared beside her. "Hey there hummingbird...I hope I didn't scare you," Dante purred, kissing her cheek. He walked around so he was in front of her, being careful of the berries.

Echo gave a small jump before she smiled. She returned the kiss. "I shoulda known you would do that." She glanced down one more time to watch the ladybug fly away. "So what did you want to talk about?" She asked. "Wait a sec, could you pick that strawberry for me? The big one? I can't reach it." Echo let her wings fan out slightly

"Oh? No problem," he said. His tail plucked the strawberry off the bush as he handed it to her before he began to explain what he wanted. "So...onto the reason why I called you here...I wanna teach you a couple of things, to help with any threats or dangers that may come to the cult...again," Dante stated. He glanced at the ladybug as it flew off then watched as a butterfly landed on the very end of his tail

Echo twisted off the leaves and popped the strawberry in her mouth, using her time to think before she finished. "Train me? What things are you thinking of training me in?" She asked, turning to rest her back on the wooden bar on the fence to look at him better.

"Simple things...hiding in the shadows, moving through them and such...it makes it easier to escape or use them to your advantage," Dante said with a shrug. "It does take some time to get used to but once you get it...it'll be very resourceful," Dante stated as he walked over to the trees that led into the forest and easily blended into the darkness, almost vanishing from sight.

Echo watched him as he disappeared into the shadows before nodding. "Alright, I see how that'd be useful. But, I think I could teach you something too. But let's start with what you want to teach me first." She jumped off the fence and dusted off her jeans. "So what do we start with?"

"Hmm? Alright then...let's start with a simple trick...allowing the shadows to surround you," Dante stated as he came back into view, gesturing for her to follow as he led her to the darker parts of the forest to make it easier for them to train. "You have stay completely relaxed...any hint of hesitation or fear will keep you from doing so," Dante explained. His tail flicked back and forth as he said all of this.

Echo nodded as she tried to do what she was told. She relaxed her arms and legs all the way to her fingers and toes. Soon the only things left were her wings. She concentrated until every single feather was relaxed and once that was done, her mind slowly settled down

"That's good...now imagine the shadows wrapping around you like a blanket and you'll find yourself surrounded by black, but don't panic, I'll explain after," Dante stated as he watched her become at ease. He smiled and reached into his pocket and pulled out his lighter and a cigarette, putting it in his mouth as he lit it, inhaling the toxic fumes of the cigarette before blowing out miasma.
"I should teach you how to make miasma but that would mess up your lungs if you're not ready," Dante stated, taking the cigarette from his mouth and looking at it.

Echo did as she was told and imagined the shadows moving to wrap around her. Soon her body gave a small tingle and it went dark. She took a deep breath as she looked around, keeping herself relaxed.

Dante saw her do this and said,"okay...try moving around, with each step you take...see if the sound waves can bounce off the area around you so you won't run into anything...it takes some time to master but you'll get it...and if you wish to come out of the shadows, take a breath and imagine your back in this forest...it's not hard," Dante stated. He was sure it may take her a few tries before she'd be able to see the sound waves bouncing off the trees when moving through the darkness. She was a quick learner so maybe it wouldn't take as long as he thought.

Echo took a step, the shadows shifting with her. She tried her hand at sound waves, not feeling anything like she did the first time she had the shadows. She kept trying, walking around as she tried with sound. Soon enough she shook her head and let the shadows drop. She turned to Dante. "I can't do sound. Birds aren't like bats and this is a lot like echolocation. And while my name is in that word I can't use sound to my advantage." She looked down, suddenly interested in her bare feet, avoiding Dante's eyes.

"Oh dear...okay then, how about you use a trick I used when I was young...i used gunshots and would follow the bullets through the trees and whenever it hit something I would fire another...but I believe smoke would help you better so you'll see the outline of the area," Dante stated as he let her head. He knew it was going to be difficult for her. "This time I'll be by your side when you go into the shadows...it'll help," Dante said with a smile, running a hand through her hair.

Echo nodded and lifted the shadows back. Soon she had relaxed and concentrated, her mind lightly searching for Dante before she relaxed completely. It took her a moment of practice before she could finally do what she wanted. A smile graced her face as she let the shadows fall again. "I did it!"
