DanteEcho flew through the trees headed to her treehouse, trying to get to the shield of her home. The girl took twists and turns expertly and her newly cut hair was flying around her face. Her ball gown had long been discarded and one of her old white dresses had replaced it. Another fight was raging through, and the girl was sticking with her leader, but to do that she needed her strength. She flew through the shadows, avoiding anything that moved.

A figure moved swiftly through the forest. His red eyes seemed to glow dimly as he easily menuvered his way through the shadows soon appearing in front of a girl he was chasing, the barrel of his gun pointed directly at her with a serious look in his eyes before that seriousness faded into shock as he lowered his gun. "Echo? What are you doing here? It's dangerous, unless you're joining Famosity," Dante said, flapping his wings to stay in the air as he looked directly at her, waiting to get an answer.

Echo gasped but otherwise kept quiet until the gun was lowered. Now that she wasn't staring down a barrel though, she could see the person holding the gun. She blinked for a second before a breath passed her lips. "Dante? I'm getting to my treehouse for supplies. What are you doing here?" She questioned.

"I'm with Famosity in this...I can't stand being trapped here anymore, it's too much!" Dante cried out in anger and annoyance as he put his pistol in his gun holster and sighed. He landed on a tree branch that was high enough to keep them away from the vines heading toward Tlia. "Being stuck in one place for so long is just too overwhelming..." Dante stated, trying to explain to Echo.

Echo took a deep breath and sat near the end of the branch. She studied Dante before she responded. "I'm siding with Tapi. I can't leave my home it's the only home where my life is. I can't fight against it. Mindbenders....we're loyal."

"And Shapeshifters are rebellious...but we also protect those close to us," Dante said. He wrapped his tail around Echo's waist and pulled her close to him. He pulled out a cigarette from his pocket with a purple coloring to it and lit it, inhaling before letting out a large puff of purple smoke. It was miasma. It was a special toxin his species can take in without being harmed but it is extremely deadly to others, which is the main reason why he kept it away from Echo.

Echo shook her head. "So that's it? We're enemies now. We can't be on separate sides, Dante! You know the rule Tapi just sent out? she wants us to fight. And I'm not against it." Echo shook her head again, looking around. She pulled her shortened hair into a ponytail and let her new bangs fall in front of her eyes, looking away from the shapeshifter beside her.

"Is that so...I'm not gonna fight you Echo, if I have to I could knock you out very easily...but that would be as a last resort," Dante said with a chuckle, unwrapping his tail from around her. He shifted a couple times so he was turned toward her. "This reminds me of an old story...the tale of two lovers being kept apart by a quarl, I'm sure you know it," Dante said with a grin, trying to hide his sadness behind a fake smile as he looked at her.

Echo raised her eyebrow at him. She knew the story. Shakespeare was a favorite of her's. "Romeo and Juliet?" Echo gave a bitter laugh. "Do we remind you of them? That ended badly, you know. Like, out of strawberries bad." Echo's bitter laugh soon became livelier, humor filing in.

Dante chuckled and caressed her cheek. "Come on hummingbird, you know nothing like that would happen to us," Dante said with a smile, leaning close to kiss her. His voice started to hold more humor in it as he continued to speak.

Echo gave him a little peck and laughed again. "All the times we've almost died." She let her head fall on his shoulder. Her laughter ebbed away and she watched her breath come out in puffs. "I wish the ball was still going on. I made a dress, best one I've ever made. I cut my hair, for the first time in years. I even wore heels. I didn't dance though, wish I did." She didn't want to dance anymore though. She thought that'd be cruel.

"Yeah, I saw you when I first entered...I didn't even get a chance to approach you before the chaos started," Dante said with a soft laugh. "You look nice with your hair cut, but it's also kinda strange since I'm used to how it looked before," Dante said, running a gloved hand through her hair.

Echo let a small laugh out. "Thought it was time for a change. Turns out it was the perfect time." She looked up and studied the sky before she looked back at Dante. "I really do need supplies though. I'm not supposed to be out here." She said, her voice soft. "How long can We stay out here without people finding us?"

"About 30:00 minutes or more...lets get to your treehouse, we'll have a less chance of being spotted," Dante said, getting to his feet as he grabbed Echo's hand and pulled her up. He then opened his wings and flew into the air, gesturing for the mindreader to follow. He knew she knew how to get to her own treehouse, but there was a shortcut they could take that would hide them.

Echo narrowed her eyes a fraction and opened her wings, following him. She made sure to stick as close as she could. "But there's always less activity on the way I go." Echo protested.
