DestinyJoyHope Lunar staggered out of the shadows, the pain in her chest utterly blinding. She could barely think, let alone see clearly where she was going. She had been attempting to find the infirmary but her previous quarrel with the vines attacking the manor left her in a deep haze. She looked around, hyperventilating as she began to take in her surroundings. She had made her way into the forest, how deep into it she did not know. Eyes widening Lunar staggered back mouthing the word, "No." This couldn't be happening to her. She couldn't be here. In a fit of panic Lunar quickly spun around, rushing to escape back into the shadows, when she suddenly lost her footing and fell straight across the forest ground. "Son of a-" she gasped, the pain in her chest rising far above her tolerance for pain. Turning on her back, Lunar stared up to the intertwined branches above. Seeing such a sight she was reminded of a similar event from her previous life as a human. To be confronted with such a similarity she laughed, "Would you look at that... we ended up in the same place X." Closing her eyes Lunar settled on sinking into her own shadow when the sound of an approaching oncome caught her attention. Her eyes fluttered open and in a flash, despite the pain, Lunar spun onto her feet. Quickly she swung her arms down and brought out her Escrima Sticks. Anyone in this forest was an enemy, she knew that, and yet, she found herself hoping for an ally. Foolish thinking indeed.
Steadying her stance, Lunar prepared for a battle. "Whoever you are..." she whispered, "I won't go down without a fight."

It seemed that fortune had pivoted once again on the fallen angel. It had been a few days since Eve had left the manor, and luckily for her, the most she had gotten with her treachery was the incident with the woman a few hours in, and that turned out better than she expected. Though her situation was less than pleasurable, she decided it was much better than staying in a manor being torn apart by the surrounding forest. Loneliness she could deal with; impending doom she refused to. She figured that as long as she stuck to the shadows, then she could get through this rebellion relatively unscathed.
This was not the first time she had been horribly, horribly wrong.
Hearing someone else in the forest didn’t instantaneously induce panic, however. The woods were large and vast; unlike the manor, it was generally unlikely that one would easily run into someone else, whether it be friend or foe. Eve still stood by her theory that most had stayed with Tapi, which made it even less likely that she would run into anyone. With the lack of people and how deep they were in the woods, she jumped on the instinct to see who it was.
Upon comprehending the other’s words, she regretted her decision. “Whoa, no, I- I don’t want to fight you,” Eve said delicately, approaching her with caution and eyeing the sticks in her hand. Most of Famosity’s followers, if that’s what the angel could call it, were generally pacifist; her pulling out a weapon on the unicorn’s territory indicated a less than friendly encounter. “So if you put your, uh, weapons down, maybe we could talk this out?”

Lunar stood at the ready, prepared and antsy to attack, but she waited. The on comer was a cultist, obviously, and an enemy of Tapi, no doubt. The cultist wasn't someone she recognized, which made the situation all the more dangerous. There was no telling what the girls powers were aside from flight, she assumed taking notice of the girls wings. Her mind raced with simulations of attack patterns and escape plans, if necessary, so much so that she had almost missed what the girl had said entirely but caught the last few words.
"Talk it out?" she scoffed, "Is that a joke?" Lunar took a step towards the cultist, anger emanating off of her. "What's there to talk about? You're the enemy." she stated plainly, before adding, "Cowards, of course, running off into the forest. Pathetic traitors too afraid to fight." Lunar's voice trailed off as a sudden thought popped into her head. She knew just how to deal with the situation.
"All you want to do is talk." she growled, "Well I'm afraid I can't do that. You see there's only one way to deal with a traitor, you've gotta beat some sense into them- hard."

The animosity was clear in the cultist’s voice and demeanor, and it was safe to assume that any diplomatic diffusion of the situation wouldn’t change her mind. As the other took a step forward, Eve took a step back; fighting was not her forte. The only reason she had managed to win the last fight was because of a lucky hit, and she doubted this one would go down as easy. Her focus remained on the other cultist as she drew back little by little, not wanting to be hit in the back while running.
She cringed at being called a coward. It hurt more than she thought it would’ve, and she knew it was true. The hurt quickly turned itself in anger, because she was right and Eve hated that fact. Yes, she was a coward and a traitor, but who was that cultist to call her out on it, and they didn’t even know each other’s names. “At least I’m not the one who lets pride and loyalty kill me,” she growled, clenching her fists. “I left to stay alive! If Tapi can’t help me do that, well, what’s the point?”
The forest surrounding tensed up as the fight became more and more inevitable. It was just waiting for the first strike, and if the other didn’t serve it, then the angel would soon enough.

The corners of her lips curled into a coy smile upon seeing the cultist step back. Coward, she thought. There was no place for cowards in this cult. None at all. She wondered how they, these weak little things, had survive for long with everything that happened to the cult, but quickly forgot it when she realized the cultist was stepping further away.
Small bits of laughter emerged from behind her lips and Lunar couldn't help but mock the poor winged girl. "Trying to run away?" she asked tauntingly, "Are you really so afraid?"
Lunar pursed her lips in annoyance, the girl seemed to have the idea in her head that if she had stayed in the cult she would have died. How foolish, she thought, you'll die for betraying the cult. The thought, she admitted, gave quite some joy but the joy quickly passed and the two were left at a stand still. Each waiting for the other to attack or run. Lunar half expected the girl to just take off, how she would have loved to give chase, but the girl remained and with each passing moment the air seemed to grow stale. Her eyes glanced to the surrounding forest, the vines had attacked the manor and her earlier, they would most certainly attack here. She'd have to be careful.
"The point?" Lunar questioned, "The point is you betrayed the cult and now you'll have to pay."
In a single second Lunar leaped into action. She raced toward the girl, her Escrima sticks in hand, and, once she was close enough, kicked off the ground. Her body turned in the air, her right art coming down in a, rather slow, forehand swing that was immediately followed by her left arm in a back hand swing. Landing, all be a bit awkwardly, she jumped back ready for the winged girls counter. Teasingly she said, "Let's go feathers."
