"Me?" Cullain stopped to give a sideways glance at the game mistress. He walked a few steps towards her, maneuvering over the shards of debris that littered the floor. Wood, metal, and glass shards had turned the upper floors into a metaphorical minefield, spelling doom to anyone foolish enough to wander in with open-toed shoes.
Cullain could make out the bits and pieces of what had once stood here: severed chains for chandeliers, broken windowpanes both clear and stained. It was a shame, really. During normal times, Cullain guessed this part of the mansion most likely would have been rather beautiful.
"I ah...kinda have some, uh...forging I'd like to get back to...can this wait?" In all honesty, he just didn't want to do cleaning; he was a hopeless procrastinator, especially when it came to chores. Hoping the bluff would work, Cullain started to turn his back away from the Intera...

Raising his hands in surrender, Cullain sighed and said, "Fine, whatever you say. I guess I don't have much going on anyways." Cullain rolled his shoulders and cracked his neck side to side before going for one of the larger pieces of shattered lumber on the floor, hefting it up and into both hands. Walking the piece out to a trash pile, Cullain looked over at the Intera following him...wait, what was her name, anyway?
"Ah...you're that game lady, aren't ya? Sorry, I never caught your name whenever I got...well, dragged in to all of this crap." He stared down at the piece of broken wood suddenly. "I'm not, you know, I'm not saying this is a bad place, I just...uh...eh, forget it."
Great, now she probably thinks I hate the place, Cullain thought to himself. This is why we don't talk to people here, C. You fumble your words and make an even bigger fool of yourself than normal.

Cullain walked the large lumber piece out of the large hall, grunting as he set it down in the large pile of refuse. It was surprisingly heavier than it looked, not to mention the sturdy piece was obviously built to last, from its thickness. Cullain felt a cold pit in his stomach as he observed what looked like burn marks and corrosion scrawled across the the wooden beam.
I missed one helluva battle here, didn't I?
Focusing back to the moment at hand, Cullain wiped his hands off on his pants and answered, "I'm Cullain. Nice to meet you. And...yeah, me having things to do might have been me, uh...lying a litte..."
At Jeu's unimpressed glance, Cullain cleared his throat and said, "Nevermind. Not important. Yeah, I do smithing...sort of. It's kind of more magical than normal smithing but...y'know what? Come on, it's easier just to show you."
Cullain walked back into the hall, searching, Jeu close behind him. I saw the chain on the ceiling earlier, but where is...aha! Finding the severed, battered chandelier base on the floor, Cullain stretched out his hand and focused. Grimacing in concentration, Cullain willed the metal in the chandelier upwards, slowly, slowly towards the hang chain attached to the ceiling. Once they were close enough, Cullain liquefied the metal on both the tip of the Chandelier and the end of the chain, and refused the two back together.
Feeling that the job was complete, Cullain released the magic and let out a huge breath, grabbing his knees to stabilize himself. That much metal at once had left him a little tired, but it was worth it: just like that, the chandelier was whole and like new again, if slightly battered. Once he caught his breath, he could fix the dents and twists in the metal and restore it to its original shape.
"Yeah, so...that's...that's what I do. Metal does whatever I want, whenever I want." Cullain said to Jeu between deep breaths.
Now if only I could get myself to lift a damn chandelier without getting so winded...

"I'll be fine, just...need a minute to catch my breath..." Cullain said. It really was frustrating, seeing all this amazing magic around him, and the only thing he could do was pick up a somewhat larger piece of metal than normal. Someday, he'd find a way around the stumbling block, it was just a matter of time. Cullain nodded at her suggestion to stop and rest for a moment, and watched as she moved to pick up other shards of the rubble.
Jeu was an interesting case. She didn't seem like Tapi, that much was for certain. She didn't have the same...contempt for people that Tapi had. At the very least, if she did feel contempt towards him, she wasn't showing it. It was a little disconcerting the way that she was able to float on her own, just above the ground, but Cullain had the growing feeling that this was what passed for normal in the Cult.
Feeling a bit rested now, Cullain grabbed another section of broken stone and started to haul it out. It wasn't until he had gotten completely out to the rubbish pile that he heard Jeu hiss.
"Jeu? You alright?" Walking back to see what was wrong, he noticed that she was clutching her hand. "Hey, what's the matter? You do som--oh, shit, yeah, you did."
Cullain came over and gently opened her hand to look at the bleeding. He winced as he saw the open gash in her palm. "Dang, you cut yourself pretty bad. How'd you do that, broken glass? Here, come on, sit down. I might have something that'll help."
Rummaging around in his pockets, Cullain finally pulled out a crudely made piece of arm jewelry, the band a brittle, reflective gray and the gemstone a warm orange-brown.
At Jeu's confused look, Cullain said "Put this with the stone over your cut and hold it there. And sit down, too, it's gonna take a little while."

"Cut's hurting less, isn't it?" Cullain gestured at the amulet as he sat down across from Jeu and continued, "Amber and Antimony. Both innate healers. Not a miracle fix, but you'll heal up a little faster than you normally would. It has to have an energy source, though, so you might feel a little tired while it patches you up."
Cullain shrugged and rubbed his tattooed shoulder. "Yeah, I made it. I've got a little stockpile of different charms up in my room. I can make weapons, sure, but charms are more fun. They ain't pretty, but they get the job done. Most of them aren't that powerful, and a lot of 'em are duds, or I just can't plain make 'em work. But it's fun to tinker with 'em, see what kind of effects I can make with the right gem and metal combo."
He pointed at the bracelet in Jeu's hand. On the bracelet was a green spot, the same glowing green as Cullain's tattoo. "Every metal has a magic behind it. I just...turn that magic on, with my key here." Cullain patted his tattoo for emphasis. "It's mostly just a hobby, but the libraries here have been REALLY helpful figuring stuff out. A lot of my know-how's been from random success. Or, sometimes, blow-up-in-your-face failures...literally," Cullain laughed.

((Ooh boy, I hope you guys don't mind if I jump in? The Goop Son needs to get out of his corner and talk to people more, haheh))
Elysium was eating the rubble. Kind of.
All or most of it was dead and wilting, so really he was simply just transporting the shards and fragments to the Void. Through the mouth of a gaunt faced, ebony-skinned human, with skin writhing in runes. He wandered quietly, shoveling wood and stone and, at one point, even a small Boulder of a rock into his mouth, face splitting open at the edge of his lips whenever he needed a larger maw.
His wandering took him to Jeu, and another he hadn't yet seen, or heard of, and he hungered, briefly, for their knowledge and their energy and essence-- but he shoved that down, took a superficial breath to steady himself, and approached.
"Jeu!" He called lightly, reaching a hand out from his cloak to wave, if only briefly. Upon noticing her hurt, however, his sly-lipped smile and quirked brow turned to a sharp frown of concern. He quickened his pace, his current height bringing him to her side in a couple of seconds. He stopped a few feet away and stooped down low to get a better look at her hand, reaching one of his own out in reflex to his concern, the new face momentarily forgotten.
"Jeu, are you.. Okay?" Elysium's question turned from one to another as he looked at her hand and saw the charm, or what he could see of it. He felt acutely the sickening, natural pulse of life and healing energies coming from it, and his outstretched hand recoiled sharply. He forced back a grimace, and gradually stood tall once more with a small, "Oh."
He turned to look at Cullain, face schooled towards neutrality. "Looks like he's already got you covered." He gave a small, half hearted smile.

He turned back to Jeu with a quizzical smirk, flashing immaculate, fanged teeth in a brief, sly grin. "Face?" He asked, and then morphed his visage to be a perfect mimicry of Jeu's, color and all; save, of course, his runes, which were a faintly darker tone than her skin, and his eyes, still burning bright blue. "No face is truly mine, Jeu. My name, though. That is mine." He said, his voice deep and sleek, and he grinned again, same fangs striking white against the blue skin. He faded, gradually, the color of his skin to the same pitch black as before, and his features shifted swiftly back to the angular face he once wore.
"The name's Elysium, by the way. And, uh. No. I don't think we've met," He pursed his lips and hummed, looking up to the right a moment in thought, before adding, "Properly." He shrugged, quickly, and smiled again.
"Surprisingly enough I don't recognize him, however." Elysium took a step back and extended a hand to each of them, an open hand offered to Cullain, and a closed fist to Jeu. "Who might you be?" He asked, looking to Cullain and smiling softly.

((YAY WE'RE BACK TO RP'ING AGAIN )) Cullain watched the charm in action, as Jeu's wound started to heal up and close. It was always a moment of pride for him to see a charm successfully working, even if it was something as simple as a healing trinket. In fact, It was...wait a minute...what was that? Cullain's attention was diverted from Jeu as he heard a noise in the far end of the hall. Something that sounded like... crunching? Before he could ask Jeu what she thought it was, the two of them were suddenly joined by a mass of black. Surprised by the new face, or..er..lack thereof, Cullain took a slight step backwards. His hand moved slightly towards the sheathed knife on his belt, and started to slide it out, until he heard the thing speak. " Jeu, Are you...Okay? Oh. Looks like he's already got you covered." The mass directed its face at Cullain. With the look on its...face, he wasn't sure if the creature was analyzing him or staring him down. Either way, he didn't think he liked the look that the shadow had given him. It didn't ease his suspicions that the entity seemed to shy away from his healing charm. The creature--apparently named Elysium--stretched out a hand of darkness towards Cullain. Eventually, he cautiously took the hand and shook it, saying carefully with a sideways glance, "Cullain. Hope you don't find this rude, but Jeu doesn't seem to know you, and I sure as hell don't, so, ah...what exactly ARE you?" ((Cullain is acting snarky and rude as all gets out I am so sorry my child has an attitude problem, he has trust issues >.<))

((I kinda want to jump in too. I hope you don't mind another person joining.))
'My, maybe I shouldn't have spent so much time visiting Rixx,' Katherine thought as she walked to the stairs. She definitely wasn't expecting the damage to be this bad after the alarm spells on her room warned her about damage to the surrounding area while she was gone. 'Might as well help clean up on my way up to my room.'
As she kept walking, collecting fallen bricks and the like to drop off in a pile, she heard voices ahead of her that sounded like they were coming from the area by the stairs. Dropping off her current load, she decided to see who all it was. Walking to where she could see them, the conversation got clearer, but not before she could hear the end of the sentence that was being spoken.
Getting closer, she got a better look at the group of three sitting there. Needless to say, she didn't recognize any of them, and deciding to to make herself known she called out a greeting. "Hey there! Guess y'all were picking up too?"
((I hope this doesn't seem too awkward. I've never done anything like this before.))

Elysium pouted at Cullain for a split moment, retracting both of his arms and hunching in on himself more. "Aspect of the Void, at your service. The, ah, knowledge bit, specifically." He didn't see the need for such hostility, really; he felt kind of hurt. The wariness and apprehension rolled off the young human in waves, and a quick glance at his mind produced only the word thing, dripping in white, trembling, hasty letters. Which was true, he supposed.
Didn't mean it still didn't sting.
When Jeu spoke, he tasted the wariness from her, too, though for a different reason, he could tell; her words made a pleased smile break out on his face, and his color visibly lightened a shade. "Oh, good, good." He said, quietly, and was about to speak again when another joined their little group. His skin immediately darkened again.
He was unnerved that there seemed to be so many in the cult he didn't know. Not wanting to cause any further tension or unrest, he simply gave a small wave and a kind smile.

"Certainly. Cleaning up won't take nearly as long with the four of us working together. I should also probably introduce myself as well. My name is Katherine." She had decided that joining this little group wouldn't hurt.
Wondering who her new acquaintances were she decided to ask. "May I ask what your names are?" As as she spoke, though, she felt an itch on her neck, and not thinking about it, shrunk her right gauntlet so she could properly scratch it.
