Sanguinem-pascens Vampire
Basics
Origin: A demonic “virus” which first was spotted in Ancient Babylon.
Definition: Sanguinem-pascens lat. ( blood feeding ).
The sanguinem-pascens “virus” takes over the host's body completely, changing it to it's advances. Humans usually call the hosts of the “virus”, vampires. There are 2 known branches of the “virus” as of now, with one being more aggressive.
Branch Sanguinem-pascens-roma : Julius Penumbra Age: 2148, Benjamin Age: 184
Branch Sanguinem-pascens-magii : Gabriel Rowe 179
Science facts:
- The “virus” nests in the heart producing new cells in the muscle tissue, while the virus itself controls the blood flow.
- Produces TERT cells as a byproduct which preserves the DNA from falling apart, thus making the host immortal and stops the aging process entirely. (thanks to Scorpius for that)
- Repairs any damage inflicted to the body returning it to the most ideal state possibly which is reached after the first time entering the host.
Changes the acid in the stomach of the host into a fluid which can separate nutrition from any liquid, can not digest solid structures, instead rids them of any usable substance and then reject the solid structure. Picks out red blood cells from blood, destroys the white cells. - If there is a lag of red blood cells the virus sends a distress signal from the brain, activating the same process in the brain, first as if an addict is on cold turkey, then similar to starving. If furthermore no blood is added into the system the virus starts to shut down the main brain, leaving only the instincts to survive active. This sate is called Feral
→ Additionally the magii branch reaches the state of feral if no magic contained blood is taken in for a while. - If head is removed there is a chance of survival if the bloodstream is kept working, giving the virus enough time to initialize the rebuild of the head.
- The virus dies off if the host is exposed to the combined components of sunlight, to avoid getting into contact with the sun the host is getting tired at sunrise, falling into a stasis until sundown.
- The host of a magii branch virus is not able to use the magic stored in the body consciously. The magic mutated the virus to be more resistant and aggressive, needing more blood intake but also being stronger than the usual branch, being able to stay up at day without being forced into stasis for example.
The Turning Process:
The virus is only able to take over the host if the heart is short of stopping to beat, giving a time window which lasts 1-5 minutes before actual death. After entering the body, it takes over the host , getting rid of any toxins inside of it, repairing any damage which had been afflicted over lifetime, changing the body to the best outcome possible with the DNA of the host. The turning itself can last up to 13 hours and it that time span the new host can already die if exposed to the sun. After waking up the host has 48 hours time to take in new blood before the virus dies off through blood loss. Around 30% of victims don't survive the turning in the first place.
