Again. The dragonling was pacing outside her room. Again. And of course, if she asked why the dragonling was pacing, he would no doubt awkwardly flip and flee. Again. So she decided to keep this from happening again.
“Hey, Dovahsebrom. I need your help with something,” Smith called into the hallway.
Lee yelped, startled back into focus. He froze, unsure why the smith would need his help with anything at all, tempted to flee. Not wanting to deny his friend, he stepped inside.
Smith smirked to herself. “Could you have a seat by the table there? I've got some pieces I wanted you to look at.”
Usually, that meant more runes for Lee to try, so he quickly shifted into his dragon form and leapt pointy the bench next to the table. Smith tossed something towards the table, a few small pieces of metal, which Lee eagerly jumped to eat in midair - but no sooner had Lee left there bench but the steps twisted themselves, wrapping around Lee's limbs and anchoring him to the bench.
Smith strolled over. “Now that you won't be running away this time, little one,” she began, “why do you spend so much time pacing near my room?”
" -GaH?!" The small thing was sent into a panic scales raising and pupils narrowing as sparks of fire crackled to life behind small fangs, "S - smith?" Small wings flicking about wildly the dragon tugged and pulled, limbs tense and muscles straining against the binds. His face flushed at the question insides twisting uncomfortably.
Smith's smirk threatened to burst into a broad grin, but she held it back as she slowly walked to the far side of the table from Lee. "Usually, if people have business with, they walk in. And if they are afraid and I ask them what they need outside, it helps settle their nerves. You, though." She sat down on the table's other bench. "You have been pacing about, not coming in yet fleeing when I try to ask what you need. As soon as I know why you are constantly lurking about, you'll be free to go." She paused. "Well, if you want to. Some people do enjoy being tied up."
Lee's eyes widened, face becoming a darker shade of red. His small frame crouched itself low to the table, a warning his passing his lips as blue smoke billowed up along his glaring features. The small beasts eyes darted around for an escape, trying to face Smith with his front pressed as low as it could go, tail flicking in the air as the dragon gave no response save for a low hiss.
Smith stood up sharply. "Well, fine, if you want to be that difficult...." As Smith trailed off, she clapped twice and the metal pieces unwrapped from Lee's limbs and fell clattering to the floor.
Lee huffed, snuffing out the building smoke and fire and looking about the remnants of his shackles, crouching down he remained on the table, sitting like a cat and glaring at his own hands. The redness along his cheeks remained as the small creature scowled down at the makeshift trap.
Smith simply walked back to her forge, still smirking. "You can come and tell me why you hang around, or you can have fun skulking. Your choice."
She looked over her shoulder for a moment. "You look cute in shackles, though."
In an instant his scales were ruffling back up looking at anything but the other cultist in the room. Quickly the dragon crawled over the edge slinking under the table and in the shadows with mixed sounds quietly passing his lips.
Smith began etching something at her forge. "What was that? I couldn't quite hear you."
A quiet hiss sounded, more trills and chirps following after the noise as the sound changes , the dragon quietly moving around the room.
Smith tossed something into the fire, stoking it hotter as she worked with a hammer and very small chisel. "You know when I'm solid enough to show my face I can't understand those sounds, dovashsebrom. What did you say?"
He chuffs at the taller, watching her work and carefully, slowly, sliding toward her with yet more sounds, "Mn, nothing, jussst, noisssess." The smaller chimes, crawling closer.
"Really?" Smith chuckles. "They're pretty frantic noisssessss. In fact, I'd sssay you're feeling rather sstrongly about something you'd like to tell me about but you're afraid of what i'll think." She punctuates her sentence with something tossed behind her that bounces slightly on the floor before stopping a short way in front of Lee. It's a small stone, pearl-like in color and smooth as though taken from a riverbed, with five different runes engraved in it, marked with Smith's ethereal blood.
Lee hisses at the taller, her words almost sounding mocking at the way she's pulling her s's, something lee is sure she wouldn't do unless making a point. He's too busy glaring up at her before the beast is cut from his thoughts the dragon jumped in the air at the stone landing before him, waiting a few seconds before stalking towards it. He sniffs at it, suspicious of another trap
Smith doesn't turn around at all. "Don't worry, it won't tie you to the ground. I won't do that to you twice. At least, not unless you ask."
Lee blanches up at the taller, Heat rising up along his back and neck. He huffed clicking his teeth before picking the small stone up carefully between obsidian claws, "What is it?" He asks quietly
Smith hunches over her work a little more, hiding a grin and a blush. "An experiment."
Lee gives a noise, placing the stone between his teeth and keeping slitted pupils focused on the woman. If she made any move, he was bolting for the door. he didn't trust this 'experiment' .... but he wasn't going to deny one of these stones. The texture was smooth on his tongue, letting it sit there for a bit and savoring the sparks of magic, he hummed, sitting back with a purr.
"It's a simple magic, if it works," Smith said slowly. "The runes translate fairly directly to 'no lies'. It won't force you to speak, and we both know these never last more than twenty minutes or so, but for now...." Smith put down whatever she was working on and turned to face Lee, leaning against her forge. The blue scales stitched into her leather shone softly in the fire's light. Her face was soft, showing concern and interest. "Why do you insist on hanging around near, but not in, my shop?"
Lee huffed out another plume of blue smoke, amber eyes opening lazily to look up at the other. He wouldn't deny that the stone tasted amazing, or that this was... a smart trap.... Focusing on her features the dragon purred, But he didn't dare speak out of fear of revealing things even he didn't believe.
Smith sighed and folded her arms across her chest.
"See, I heard an ... interesting rumor recently. I was hoping you'd confirm or deny it for me."
He missed her expression from before, whining softly and rolling on his back, this stone was already getting to him, these noises weren't what he wanted - "What rumor," He rumbled snapping his jaw and burying his face in his arms.
Smith smirked at Lee being cute. "I heard you had a massive, embarrassing crush on me. Panicked noises in response to my name were mentioned. And I'm starting to think the redness earlier had less to do with anger than with blushing."
"Yes -" Lee stopped squirming on the floor, it was past his lips before he had realized - horror stricken at the sound he hadn't wanted to say passed his lips, whines growing in volume and face becoming increasingly red at each passing second, the small creature tried to scramble up and to the door a shrill noise sounding from the panicking creature.
"Stop." Forceful. Commanding.
Lee stilled just before the door scales and hackles raising but muscles still as the small creature was trying to even his breathing.
"I didn't say I don't want you ... cutie." Smith's smile grew. "Crushing isn't my style, but ... let's just say if be happy to see you in more private chambers than this whenever you'd like."
Lee's scales stood on end, slowly turning to look at the woman with a bright red face and wide amber eyes. His stomach was knotting up at the look she shot his way and his heartbeat now up in his throat, "Y - You would?" He rasped quietly. Hardly believing it himself, but her expression caught him, he couldn't take his eyes off of her. Glancing down a smile tugged at his lips, feet scruffing against the floor nervously and eyes darting around before landing on her again, "I - I'd like - mmmnnn " Another, louder, purr rumbled in his throat.
"Yes, I would. Or did you not notice me flirting earlier?" Smith giggled. She held her arms wide open, invitingly. "C'mere."
Me flushes, "Flirting?" He whispers to himself, he moves to her before stopping and looking over his body, " I - uhm, What - would you like most - " He makes a vague gesture to himself, " I can use my other ... Form." He hopes she knows, he's itching to get closer to her, there's a purr in his throat at the thought.
Smith folds her arms again, her lean more casual now as she cocks her head. "Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever really seen your other form. I've gotten a glimpse, but I don't really know what you look like when you're not a tiny dragonling."
Lee nods at her, a smile growing across his features "As you wish~" He purrs, popping his neck the seal along the creatures chest flares brightly, "You'll be the first, I've been working on it." He stretches his hands, claws elongating. Small horns reaching up the dragon stands a good 6 '2 a small tuft of white hair sticking out between his horns while the rest is short and dark. and structure more built up and he looks over smith. "What do you think?" He hums.
Smith grins, almost wickedly. "What I think?" She strides over to him, wraps her arms around his neck and pulls his lips down to meet hers.
Lee's eyes are wide - the contact warm and - nice, amber eyes falling shut the dragon leans into the affection as much as he's able. Open palms slide down her sides to rest at her hips as a long tail curls around the too bodies. A resonating rumble is heard from the beast his insides coiling with delight - instincts tell him to claim - he to adore and admire, he waits respectful of her choice - warm heat builds in his chest. Waiting for her approval happily with his lips pressed to hers and his claws scraping against the armor along her back.
