The town of Gravity Falls, a quiet and peaceful place, perfect for any get away- or so it seems. In the shadows, hidden away, are terrifying monsters; monsters belonging to a certain organization: The Candle Cult. Information on these monsters has been gathered for years by an unknown author in three journals but something happened and the author disappeared. The journals have since fallen into the hands of famous monster hunters: Nylios, Hayden, and Samarra Strong. With the journals in hand they have ventured into Gravity Falls, into the unknown, where upon arriving encounter a rather strange creature hurrying towards a quaint candy shop.... their first monster.

The candy shop in question was just a little shop at the edge of the road, near the forest. It wasn't what you'd think of when you heard the word "shop". It looked more like a little house with a sign, really. The sign above the front door said "Sweet Feathers" in large letters and said "candy and small baked goods" in smaller letters below the other sign. The inside of the shop had a counter and a glass case like any cafe near the back and a few small tables with chairs set around the space between the wooden door and the counter. It seemed like it could be regarded as shabby if the maintenance was any less well done. The whole building had 2 floors and an attic. The first floor was the shop, and another "monster", Alyxrie, lived on the other floors, with her room being the entire small attic.
Aly didn't feel that she was much of monster, not that she thought about it much. She didn't think that it was ever relevant to anything she was doing, so it wasn't important. There were better things to do other than ponder her existence. At the moment, she was making a small batch of cookies. She'd already made small cakes as well as some candy and had decided that she was going to invite members of the cult over to try them. She didn't know how to approach them, so she'd left a note where she usually was and if anyone saw it, they'd probably be here.
Aly had also invited some members personally, having interacted with them a bit, but the only two who'd responded were Shadow and Niax. She took the warm cookies out of the oven, set them on the counter, and went through the door next to the pantry door to the back room, which also served as her break room. There was another door there next to the staircase up to the floors she inhabited, and she used that door as her front door for her home. (So I described the setting quite a bit, just so there's less confusion about the whole set-up of the shop. I usually write less in one reply, but. Setting.)

Shadow hesitantly entered the town of Gravity Falls, concealed in her shadow form, hidden from the humans. She glanced around, nervously darting around through the shadows of people and objects, scared to be so out in the open. It was unnatural to be out and about so casually. Normally she would linger in the catacombs, close to the cult where she was safe. Out here she was unguarded, unprotected.
Rounding the corner, Shadow took witness to three mysterious figures wandering about. She stopped for a moment, in the shadow of a light post. The group seemed to be lost or searching for something...? They looked confused as well as certain. It was ominous feeling to see them lurking around. Shaking her head she muttered, "Humans..."
Turing away from the humans she quickly rushed to towards the forest, the edge of town, where Aly's "Sweet Feahers" shop stood- a charming shop for candy and baked goods. Returning to her physical form Shadow rushed inside- accidently throwing the door open with more force than intended. "Woops..." she chuckled half-heartedly as she removed her mask and pulled down her hood. "Aly." she called out,"I got your invite! I'm here!"

Halub held the note in her hand as she approached the shop, she didn't like the sweets, but company would be nice. Especially from cult members. She had to take the long way round walking along the edge of the first, there had been humans who gave the impression of following her. It made her uncomfortable. Finally she saw the shop, the shop and quickly covered the last few feet.

Aly grinned as the door slammed open. "Shadow! You made it!" She saw another figure just outside the door and called them in. "You don't have to eat anything if it's not your thing. Don't worry, I won't be offended. It's nice too just make friends, yes?" She thought she saw someone watching them from outside, and she could support of feel them, but they weren't close enough to invade. She dismissed the thought and clapped the hands she were using today together. They were probably just some people on a walk. "So. Fresh cookies. Yes or no?"

Shadows face lit up with joy. "Cookies!" She cheered, her inner child breaking through. Shadow loved everything sweet and cookies were by far her favorite treat.
"Please and thank you." She said gleefully, unable to contain her joy.

Halub nodded as she walked in, the door was still reverberating from Shadow's entrance." I'm good, but thank you." She said. She took in the inside of the shop, it was warm, and the smell of cookies seemed to seep from every crack.

(whoops, I didn't see that it was my turn) Aly grinned, and held out a plate of cookies for Shadow, then made the door close quietly. She turned to the unfamiliar figure, and said, "hello, there. My name is Alyxrie, but really Aly is fine." As Shadow took the tray from her hands, she tugged on a sleeve absentmindedly. She thought someone saw her hand slip one day, but she wasn't too worried. Nobody would believe that the owner of Sweet Feathers had disconnected hands.

Happily Shadow took the tray, eager to satisfy her sweet tooth. "Thanks Aly!" she mumbled through a mouthful of delicious warm cookies. "Hey..." she said suddenly, setting down the tray- an ominous feeling taking hold of the air. Shadow hesitated, wondering if it was worth mentioning. She'd heard rumors of a mysterious group targeting cult members. It was just a rumor she heard while skulking around in the catacombs, but the strange feeling earlier had brought it up. She opened her mouth to think but the right words wouldn't come out. Shaking her head she hastily shoved more cookies into her mouth, "These are really good!"

"I'm Halub." Halub said in responses to Aly. She sat down at one of the small tables and watched Shadow devour the cookies. Something was putting her off though, she didn't feel comfortable. I'm just still spooked from the way here, she thought to herself, there's nothing wrong here, well beside normal cult wrongness.

Aly's smile widened, glad that Shadow liked her cookies. "You two seem a little uneasy. Is anything wrong?" She felt that that was a bit too blunt, but there really was unease in the air and even though she wasn't sure what they were worried about, she could feel a strange sense of foreboding. The presence outside hadn't moved, and two more had joined it. "Is there anything I could do to make you... less uneasy? I've heard many things at cult meetings, surely there is something in my knowledge that can relax you two." Aly knew that if it were actually just a feeling, there wasn't much she could do about it, but she still felt that asking would be the polite thing to do.

Shadow pondered in silence for a moment, staring down at the cookies. She turned towards the others, her eyes going cold, "There's something in the shadows. There's something wrong"

Halub nodded," I've felt that as well," she said, and looked at the door," on my way here, I felt followed." She bounced on the balls of her feet, uneasy.

((Mind if I hop in?))
"Hope it wasn't by me."
Elysium stepped into the shop, one hand tucked into the pocket of his stained black hoodie, the other holding the door open as he looked to them with an easy grin. Pitch dark slacks and bare feet was all else he wore, the fabric almost light against the inky, tattooed blackness of his skin. Sharp angles and strong lines adorned his elegant visage, and seemingly liquid dreadlocks shifted, fell in front of his face. With a small huff, he stepped into the shop, tucked the hair behind his ear, and gave a little wave.
"Sorry for not responding to the invitation, but I got a little sidetracked. I had to actually dig up some teeth to be passable as human." He frowned, sighed. A thought seemingly struck him, and keen blue eyes and he looked up to the faces of those within the shop with a renewed fervor.
"But, who am I, yeah? The name's Elysium! Pleasure to meet the lot of you!" He tucked his other hand into the hoodie pocket, rolled upwards onto the balls of his feet with a little bounce, grin showcasing a set of pearly white fangs.
