Ay @tea let's do this
Gliding along the forest floor, the creature could not help but despise the little light coming through the trees. It was rare they came out in the day; sun was not toxic to them but it was uncomfortable. Large eye half close, but still glowing with an icy flame, Neve wondered what the day would bring. If it remained this dull... well, they'd have to change that.
As they got further from the rest of the cult, the forest got a bit lighter, letting more sun beat down on the back of the hooded figure. Heat seeped through their robes and they groaned, looking around for a shelter. Buildings weren't in high demand among the trees but there was always someplace to go, if one looked hard enough. Sometimes even underground. Oh, those were the most fun to come across, especially if done by watching someone else fall in the hole they were hidden underneath. Such an adventure. As it was, however, they felt that that would not be the case. Instead..
They blinked, peering ahead through the dusty pillars of light and the vein-like branches. Was that a statue? Yes. It was, no doubt. Probably the remains of something once important.. May as well investigate.
Neve got closer, staring with interest. The vine-covered stone figure was just about the strangest thing they'd ever seen, and they curiously probed it with their long fingers. But a moment later, however, something revealed itself, leaping out of a tree. Now this was one of the ugliest things they'd ever seen. A spriggan. It was making a gross, gravelly growling noise from deep in it's throat.
"Avodya," it hissed. The jellytaur blinked.
"Um..sorry to break it to you, but I don't speak ugly forest spirit.."
"AVODYA!" It's face was getting more disgusting the longer Neve looked at it.
".....NO..? Leave, you insufferable monster!" Raising their arms, the creature tried to get the crouching beast to go away.
But, the thing had other plans, and came racing towards Neve, full speed. They stayed there, punching the spriggan to the side before turning tail and rushing off. Going back to where they came from, the creature really hoped nobody would see this. Always embarrassing to explain why they had ancient beasts running after them, day after day.
Would be nice if someone could help kill this thing, though.
