The day was clear and warm, a soft breeze swayed the pine branches creating a subtle dance of dappled light along the needle strewn path, snatches of blue peaking from above the bows of the trees allowed glimpses to a expanse of blue sky sparsely populated by white cotton candy clouds.
The muffled rhythmic thump-thump of hooves filled the woods as a large centaur strolled through the pines, coming to a parting in the walls of trees that opened out onto a carpet of green grass, in the middle of which sat a large flat topped black boulder, upon which was resting a strikingly red fox, cyan tails of fire flickering with every sigh of wind.
Approaching the stranger Amaya called a greeting,
"Hello there, I don't believe I've come across anyone along this path before." |

Afternoons like these were her favorites. the weather was just right- the problem was that it made her so sleepy, hearing a noise her ears twitched. But she ignored it, well until she heard a voice that was not familiar...
Fox unfurled her tails around her. stretching and yawning her sleepiness away, she lifts her head up. The first person she saw was a centaur woman with short blonde hair, cyan eyes and a pair of horns with cyan flames at the tips. "oh hello to you to! ah, well, i dont usually go to these parts actually,, i was supposed to be passing by, but the patch here ws just so great for sleeping that i couldnt help it! uhmm. is this your place?"

"It is a lovely day for a walk, and the forest in this area is one of the most beautiful, but no my house is about a mile back on the edge of the lake, I'm Amaya by the way."

"its a lovely day to sleep!" fox snickers, shaking her self. she sits up. " the forest here is beautiful, im glad humans never saw this place, they would just mess it up!" tilting her head she asks "Amaya,, thas a nice name! I call myself foxraptor, but peeps call me Fox!" she grins, raising her paw at the centaur

Amaya grins, shaking foxes paw happily, "Why thank you, and I agree, it's good that the cult owns this place, the protection that offers alone ensures that no humans are damaging these woods any time soon, I can't imagine where we'd all go if it was destroyed."

"ugh humans! i dont like them very much, well there are some who are alright, but i dont really trust em!" dropping down from the rock she was on she looks up at her new friend "i know right?? its really amazing how they have all these places! i mean, the forest is so huge i barely even know where im going!" she chuckles "makes you wonder how they even got all these rad things n the first place huh?"

"Ah, yes our glorious Leader! Actually i know some ppl who asked, there was also a time when she was drunk--but it was seariously vague and kind of haunting!" Jumping over a large root she glanced at her companion once more, following where she was going, Amaya seemed to know the place better than she did so there seemed to be a better chance of not getting lost.. Hearing the words catacombs she laughs, "aw man thats so true!! first time i got here, i totally got lost, came to a super awesome party though! it was hella fun!"

A sharp bark of laughter escapes Amayas mouth, "sounds like it was interesting, the party and tapi being drunk, they should really put some signs down there, maybe give new members a ball of string, anything really, I wouldn't be surprised if we'd lost members down there permanently." Amaya's ear flick about rapidly, swivelling in every direction "there should be a stream around here somewhere and a crystal deposited not far past it."
Through the trees the sounds of fast running water echoes faintly to their position.

at the sound of laughter Fox smiles, she always loved making people laugh! "it was! sadly, i couldnt really ask anything to Tapi, but the others sure the hell did! I agree, usually they just say something ominous or very vague, but there are also cultist who help a lot tho! i think most of them just really like to play around with newbies! and about the lost souls, i bet there are! Lots of rumours about that really, about running for your life, and NOT following the flames... oH crystal deposits? whoa havent seen that before!" grinning she walks at a faster pace " i think i hear a stream right around this corner, is that the place?"

Amaya's smile stretches wider at fox's interest, "yeah we should see them in a minute, it's quite a site."
As the trees part once more a clear stream reveals itself, about a foot and a half across, upstream a massive waterfall twenty five foot high dominates the scene, covered on either side in flowering ivy and small trees.
Within the water itself protruded crystals of every size, from small chips like glitter to massive monoliths that parted the waterfall into great sections of white froth.
Beams of light fell from the gaps in the tree branches to shatter along the crystal and scatter back along the water and ground, creating a rainbow of beautiful colours.
"If I have a favourite place in the woods its here hands down." Amaya remarks, bending down to pluck a small crystal shard from the river bed.

Looking around the scene, Fox gasps "oh wow this place is beautiful!"dashing near the water where Amaya was at, she looks at the crystal shard in her hands. It entirety was in the colour of dark cobalt blue, there were patches and splotches of brown and Dark Red near its center and somehow, maybe because of the sunlight hitting it just right it sort of glowed. "amazing..." slowly looking back once more near the bank, and eyeing the deep water curiously she suddenly plunged her head under the stream. Water filling her vision, she momentarily closes her eyes and when she looks around ones more, she sees bits and pieces of crystals all over near the deep end; some even accumulating on the undergrowth."there are more underwater! and its really deep" she grins as she pulls her head back and shakes it a bit "its really cool!!" she states grinning up at her friend

"I couldn't believe it when I'd found this place, I thought for sure someone lived here but I've never seen any signs that someone claimed it so I come back on occasion and gather up the crystals that break off," Setting the crystal down she wades into the water, stopping as it reaches her the fur on her chest, "it's really interesting, I don't know what these crystals are made out of but I think what ever it is it's in the water as well, I've bottled it before and taken it home, turns out both the water from upstream and the crystals glow in the dark so do any of the plants that take up the water or get crystallised altogether." Amaya continues, tossing selected crystals out onto the banks.

Fox watched as Amaya went into the waist-deep water "hmm, maybe it because the forest is so huge! there are a lot of places that are unknown.. and this place is one of the deeper parts of the forest! well, i think at least.." leaning back and slowly lowering herself to the ground she sniffed the growing plants near her "you mean all of this, while be illuminated when it turns night time?? Oh wow i wounder whats in the water" squinting at the water Amaya was in she tilted her head "i hope its not dangerous or anything"

"I made the decision to never drink it," Amaya tilts her head and hums contemplatively, "though I suppose if you did you'd probably end up glowing as well, which could be interesting, but yes the entire place lights up even though whatever mineral makes up the crystals seems to mostly filter out I'm the water fall."
