Star's eyes widened when the flame swirled out of the small crocodiles mouth, that was unexpected. "Pretty cool place for your flame. its like you're a dragon instead of a croc, huh?"

The crocodile shrugged, but nodded slightly. [It might look cool, but it kinda sucks. Nothing tastes good anymore.] He sighed slightly, remembering the wonderful tastes of the meats he once ate. Ah, so long ago that seemed.

star paused for a second, tilting his head and giving a confused look "so- your tongue burns everything or you just cant taste it in the first place?" he scratched at his throat, imagining what id be like having a fire tongue, and deciding to take a sip from his flask before finishing that thought "it doesn't hurt- does it?"

He stuck out his tongue again, but without opening his mouth. It flared a bit before burning normally. [Everything gets all burned up, and tastes awful. It doesn't hurt.] He yawned, and brought his tongue back in. Such a weird crocodile. He was still doodling on the pages, and small, awful doodles were scattered about the sides of the paper.

another squint, before offering over his flask "so can you drink? or does that not work?" he watched his doodles, plopping down his pencil case so the croc could have free range on them.

He squinted back, looking almost disappointed. [That's alcohol.] Even his doodles on the side reflected the disgust.

[Its fine, I don't need anything.] They sighed, glancing back to the swamps that they had been watching. It was what they came here for, before being interrupted. They might have sounded a bit aggressive, but they looked forelorn, and perhaps a little distant.

[No, I didn't lose anything. I used to live here.] He sighed, looking back to the demon. [ I can help you find that mint though.]

The crocodile nodded, standing up on his stubby legs. He dusted any weird forest floor stuff from his weird knees, and beckoned the demon to follow him. As they went deeper into the forest, the ground started growing mushier, and darker. In fact, everything was getting darker, as the foliage was growing thicker. The air gained a strong amount of humidity at an alarming rate.
