Screams and shouts echoed through the hallways of the mansion and down through the stretching passageways below as people, beast and human alike fought and struggled. The twins grinned, wild and vicious as they stared down at the creature they'd just beaten into submission, this was invigorating. There was nothing like feeling blood pump hot and heavy through their veins and tasting iron on their tongues and relishing in the slick of it on their bodies. The trash leaders rarely let them get involved in big things like this so to actually be involved in an invasion of this size made them growl in pleasure. "That was fun." Abel chirped wiping a trail of blood as it began dripping towards his eyes. "Hey, hey Cain, we should find someone else to play with!"
"Yeah!" Cain agreed with a vicious grin, "no more trash though, I wanna play with a pretty girl."
Abel purred at the thought and wrapped his arms around Cain's shoulders, pressing close to his twin and nuzzling their cheeks together. "Yeah, there's so much trash here I hate it, where are all the pretty things?"

Tea stumbled upon the kids, sickened by the wreckage and violence everywhere. He had half a mind to turn around and leave, but he had literally no where else to go. Glancing towards the twins, he tried to keep his eyes up. This was normal. This was inevitable. He needed to just . . . .
He cleared his throat, trying not to sound like he cared too much. "I see you two are enjoying yourselves."

The familiar voice had the boy's perking up and they turned, dog like ears popping up briefly on top of their heads as they grinned in excitement. "Trash giant!" They exclaimed running towards him and throwing themselves at the taller puppeteer so that their arms were wrapped around his chest and stomach. "Its been forever," Abel whined nuzzling his bloody face against Tea's shoulder, "we missed you!"
"Trash King's been annoying." Cain snarled propping his chin up on the opposite shoulder and frowning up at him. "And Poison never wants to play."

He was fortunate the two were tall enough now that he didn't have to double over when they did this. He bristled at first, as per the norm. Then he relaxed into their hold, sighing heavily. "Annoying is normal. As is not wanting to play." He darted his gaze to the bloody individual on the ground and immediately regretted it. "What . . . sparked this fight?"

They tilted their heads back to regard the individual lying unconscious and wrecked on the hallway floor before dismissing him just as quickly. He wasn't awake and he wasn't a girl and all and all he wasn't interesting. Their attention quickly refocused on Tea who they'd missed a whole lot and was much more interesting to them. "We were bored." They intoned as if this was all the reasoning they could ever need.
"Also he was annoying." Abel allowed after a few seconds thought. Grinning he pressed his face into Tea's neck and cuddled closer. "Thats not important!"
"Yeah," Cain nuzzled his nose against the underside of their pseudo brother figure's chin but quickly dropped back down onto the flats of his feet and settled for squishing his cheek against his shoulder instead. "We missed you, are you okay?"
"Has anyone been mean to you?" Abel growled. "We'll eat em."

Tea sighed and shook his head, rubbing the kids's backs before responding quietly, "No meaner than usual." He was so sore over so many things it would be impossible to list all that was wrong off the top of his head. Ultimately, he was soulless and thoroughly screwed. He was in a no win situation all around and these were literally the only two people who probably, probably, wouldn't try to kill him right about now. "Don't worry about me." He patted there heads. "I'm durable."

The redheads snorted. "No you aren't." They said in a dull, admonishing unison.
"You're always getting into things." Cain chastised with a frown.
Abel nodded looking annoyed and concerned. Tea was big and he was older but he couldn't protect himself as well as they could. Didn't have the right stuff to stand up and fight back when things pushed him down. "Stop going places we can't protect you trash."
"Yeah," Cain continued, "Ceb's been really worried you know."

Tea shook his head. These kids. He reached intothe folds of his coat and dug his fingers into an already open wound he'd been intent on hiding. Then he pulled out his appendix and plopped it into Cain's hand. "There. Proof." He hadn't even flinched, only barely grimaced as he'd pulled the organ free. "I'm durable."

Cain grinned at the organ, as amused as ever by the act of Tea removing something from his own body. It was snatched from his hand by Abel who held it up and cooed in delight. With it out of his grasp Cain frowned and tried to refocus his attention, it was hard when everything going on was so interesting and now there was a bloody lump to play with but he managed it and glowered at Tea. "Stupid." He grumbled. "Thats not what we meant, is it Abel?"
Abel blinked, focus dragged abruptly away from his new toy which he was squishing gleefully. "What?" He looked up with wide eyes and blinked, forcing his attention back on Tea after a moment. "Oh, yeah," he stuck out his tongue, "stupid!"
"We meant the other kind!" Cain said reaching up to grab Tea's face with both hands and shaking it. "The kind up here!"
"He means your brain." Abel whispered conspiratorially as he opened up Tea's coat and studied the bloody wound in his side. He frowned, touching it with clawed fingertips. "How do I put this back?"
"He knows what I meant Abel." Cain snapped kicking his brother in the leg and glaring at him despite his grasp on Tea's face. "And you just, put it back, duh."

Now Tea had been rolling his eyes slightly up until they touched the injury, which actually did make him flinch. He knew his own body. These two were clumsy and . . . he didn't want to say dumb but . . . they lacked common sense. Book sense. All sense.
Holding his hand out, he said, "Just give it here, I'll put it back." Technically it was an appendix. He didn't need it but it would still grow back painfully in twenty-four hours. "My head's fine." Their heads however . . . .

"Kaaaaaay." They trilled with twin grins on their bloody faces. The appendix was dropped back into Tea's grasp with a wet plop that would've been disgusting if it weren't for the fact that all three of them had seen, felt and heard much worse then a few bloody noises. The worst wounds weren't the kind inflicted on the body after all.
"I still don't think you're okay." Cain said, still holding Tea's face and squinting at it as if that would better help him figure out what was going on in the blonde man's head. "You're never okay."
"Yeah," Abel agreed, licking a bit of blood off of his hand. "Your head's a weird place. You've gotta learn how to roll with the punches trash giant."

Tea sighed. It was . . . hard . . . liking these kids. They were idiots sometimes, but also knew way too much about him thanks to shared experiences. "I'll be fine." His body ached and his energy was plummeting. "Tell Cerberus he can stop worrying. I'm not going anywhere." Neither of those who 'owned' him would allow it.

The twins frowned, concern briefly crossing their bloody faces before smiles were forced back on. "Tell him yourself later." Cain retorted cheekily while Abel nuzzled the blonde's shoulder. "You know how he gets, hes gonna want to see you."
"Don't forget okay?" Abel said firmly, wanting to ensure that Tea would speak to the gate guardian when he had a chance. "Or he'll do that thing where he eats someone."
Cain laughed, looking joyous at the thought. "I love it when he does that."

Tea sighed. He . . . had neither the time nor the energy. He was bristling all over from the vastly changed energy of the place he'd once felt so comfortable in. "I will," he murmured. But he did not promise. He couldn't really keep any promises.

Both redheads drooped a little, ears popping out and pressing down in concern. Despite their jovial nature there were very few people they genuinely liked, and Tea was one of those few. Maybe that was because the blonde had been the one to rescue them, but it could've just been that they liked Tea. They didn't know, thinking about anything too hard made their heads hurt. Regardless it burned at them to not be able to protect him. Growling quietly they pressed closer again, hugging the older man and pushing their faces close to the underside of his. "We really did miss you." Abel muttered a tad pathetically.
"Did you miss us?" Cain asked.
