(I did this under a huge writers block so please forgive me if its bad)
“So, everyone get what we’re doing?” Jinx stated, ears twitching to hear any questions that could come about the room of people, all apart of the resistance they had started.
Noises of confirmation went through the room, followed by a cheer. The cheer grew in size and volume until Jinx was forced to cover his ears from overload. However he was glad that everyone was ready.
They were all ready for this nightmare to be over.
Jeu led Jinx out of the room once she noticed his distress and they walked together, out the door and into the cool night air.
The night was peaceful, tranquil even, too forgiving for what had transpired that week. Jinx’s hands clenched as he remembered the losses he had went through, and didnt want to even imagine what the game master had gone through personally.
“Lets go.” Came the quiet voice of Jeu, and the rabbit boy gave a small nod, leading her down into the woods and beginning the familiar trek back to the cult base, their home.
Except it wasnt home, not anymore, not with those disgusting Puppeteers crawling around.
Their mission was a simple one, get inside the mansion and enter Tapi’s room, retrieve something of the Cult Leader’s to be able to track her via hell hound and then get the hell out. A simple mission, yet so very dangerous.
They both knew it was very likely that the hallways leading to Tapi’s room would be teeming with Pups, and they also knew their cult leader, and that she wouldnt leave her room without something being wrong with it.
So both the game master and the wendigo trudged on, completely silent in the night, with only Jinx’s memory of the woods to guide them. Both were prepared for the worst, but both were also hoping it wouldnt come to that.
“Is there anyone there?” Came the whispered question.
“No, no one… Its weird, theres not a single guard within the vicinity.” Jeu responded, eyes narrowed at the open door that lay before them
It was easy, too easy, where were the pups, those monsters should have been expecting something.
“Lets just go.”
“What if its a trap?”
“Well we’re expecting that so we may as well go, theres nothing we have to loose…” Jinx finished.
There was a mutual nod shared by the two and they quickly sprung up and bolted for the door, both ready to fight if push came to shove.
And yet… It didnt, they got inside the manor once more and managed to get fairly far into the manor before they realized there was something wrong.
“Where are they!?” Jinx whisper hissed, his ears twitching every which way in an attempt to hear something, anything, any sort of noise at all, all this silence was starting to make him paranoid.
“I dont know.” Jeu said, voice quieter than normal. “Im suspicious, but we should still count this a blessing, less complications.”
A small huff came from the rabbit boy and they were on the move again, carefully weaving through different hallways and passages, listening so very intently.
Finally, blessedly, they came upon Tapi’s bed room.
The door loomed ominously before them, making Jeu gulp and Jinx step back in alarm. There was power coming from inside that room, and they didnt want to know what caused it.
“D-Do you think she’ll kill us if she finds out we went in here?” Jinx asked, tuning his ears to the hallway behind them, not a single guard, where the fuck was everyone?
“Well…” Jeu began, looking around, becoming just as concerned, if not more so, than the wendigo at the lack of people. “Id rather die at the hands of Tapi than become a beast.”
“Very true.”
They shifted from foot to foot before looking at the door or, in Jinx’s case, the general direction of where he assumed the door was.
“Its not this easy, cant be.” Jeu said, frowning.
“No kidding.” Jinx snarked.
“Im serious, even if we had gotten lucky enough not to bump into anyone on our way here, theres no way Tapi would have made it this easy to get in.”
“So what you think its booby trapped?”
“I know it is, and so do you.”
“... yeah…”
“How do we get in without using the door.”
“Dont suppose you can teleport?”
“Unfortunately not.”
Jinx sighed, looking increasingly more nervous.
“Well then we’re about to have a time limit.”
Before Jeu could even ask why, Jinx put his fingers to his mouth and blew, a shrill and high pitched whistle ringing throughout the manor. The sound of wind then went through the hallway as a heavy panting, like that of a dog appeared.
And soon after a large black hellhound skidded to a stop in front of Jeu and Jinx, barking loudly so as to signal its arrival to everyone.
“Jinx.” Jeu warned through gritted teeth, she could definitely hear people now.
“Just get on the dog and prepare to hurry and grab whatever you can.” Jinx said, swinging a leg over the hounds back and helping Jeu on.
With a hissed direction to the dog in a language that was most definitely not english, the hound ran at full speed towards the shadows surrounding Tapi’s room, said shadows coming up to wrap around them, and after a minute of unholy darkness and bone splitting chill, they appeared inside the cult leader’s room.
“Quickly, grab something that looks important.” Jinx said, feeling about and swiping a pillow off of the bed, a feeling of dread settling into his bones, something told him he would be regretting this after this nightmare was over.
“What the fuck?” Jeu said, looking at the oddly inconspicuous pair of safety scissors that sat innocently on a desk, atop a stack of books.
“What” Jinx called, already getting back on the hound.
“There is a pair of scissors here.”
“Do they look important?”
“Well kinda, but I mean they-”
“Grab it and come on!! We dont want to be in here longer than necessary!”
With a sigh, Jeu swiped the blue safety scissors off of the books and hurried to the hound, by this point the sound of people had increased in volume and Jinx quickly spat out another order in that disgusting language, the dog leaping through the shadows once more and out into the tranquil night air.
“Come on boy! Dont stop running until we’re far away from here!” He directed, holding onto the hellhounds course fur as it took them far far away from the manor.
The operation had been a success.
Now to figure out where Tapi was and what the scissors they had found did...
