rewind
As soon as the take over had happened Flame disappeared just as quickly as it started. Only a few people, cultists or puppeteers, had seen a glimpse of her before they lost track. Evading people was an easy task, and she had decided to keep out of the drama between the two groups. It was annoying. And frankly nothing she felt was her problem, although she did pity most of the snacks. But she felt inclined to just watch for now.
She still needed to know what was going on, and she listened in on several people passing by her, humans coming in to put beasts from this chaotic cult in order? She couldn't agree on that exactly. Slavery was disgusting. But at least being completely human as far as they knew could be an advantage if some of them ran into her.
It was only when they started to mention Tea Flame felt driven to act. Tea was her friend, and he was the one who had caused this whole mess. She wasn't sure if she was sneaking around the cult now because she was angry, intrigued, or concerned. No, she was concerned about Tea but also needed to know where he stood. He'd give her a good idea of what to do about this. Flame knew the cult and the manor very well now, and she had no trouble evading the puppeteers or the snacks, she couldn't let them slow her down. She had no idea what state tea was in, but it had sounded worrying.
She slid into a corridor, worrying over where Tea could possibly be, she'd been sneaking around for a while now. Voices were talking behind her, coming closer, she had no idea who they belonged to but she walked forward as quietly and quickly as she could before taking another turn, and another. She had stopped in one of the more narrow stone halls as she listened for them, no noise. She'd keep going then. Where was Tea? He could be anywhere and the more time went on it made her more worried. Flame had only taken a few paces when her eyes focused on a figure in her way, seemingly not noticing her with his back turned to her, and she quickly remembered who the blonde man was, that time mage Rewind she'd seen a few times. Flame decided to take the chance for once to interact hoping he might know something.
"You're that time mage, Rewind, right?" Flame's voice was tense.
