Hey, I hope that I am putting this in the right place as I really want to start writing my cultsona's story.
This first bit is only the start and I think that I will just add onto this thread as I write it out, well lets see how it turns out.
Aurora ran up to her father, his dark blue scales reflected the sun in some places. He was curled up in the sun, he always would as the sun lowered for the afternoon. Once she was close enough she sneaked her way to his face, his eyes were closed and some smoke came out of his nostrils as he exhaled. She had to hold back a laugh as she was tickled by his breath, there were a few moments were she would freeze because his breathing would change and she feared that he would wake. Eventually she got close to him and she took a breath in before his eye opened causing her to cough and smoke came out her mouth.
‘You can’t leave an old man to sleep, can you?’ He cackled as she glared at him.
‘You promised me that you would take me for a flight in the afternoon.’ Aurora said with a huff, before crossing her arms. Her father lifted a claw before scratching his nose.
‘Did I?’ He then asked before stretching the wings on his back and looked down on the small girl. ‘Well I guess that I can’t get out of it if I promised right?’ Aurora brushed away the hair from her face and looked up on him, she nodded before smiling. ‘Well then come on, I would like to get back before night fall.’ He said with a smile as the girl ran forward and climbed up to his neck, before running to her spot on his back. She sat just between his two wings and she waited as he stood up to walk over to the edge of the grassy clearing that they were in, the edge was nothing but a drop off that lead down into nothing but darkness. Her father turned his head to look at her, checked that she was holding on as she is meant to and only then did he drop off the edge. Aurora squealed in delight as her father then opened his wings to fly, she let go of him before standing up and held out her arms to try to feel the wind pass by.
‘Aurora, sit down.’ Her father instructed, Aurora enjoyed the wind for a little longer before listening.
‘Father, why don’t I have wings as well?’ She then asked as she crawled closer to his head, he sighed sadly before glancing back at her.
‘You were just not born with them, I am sorry but there is no way for you to gain some easily.’ He said and Aurora’s ears twitched.
‘Easily? So there is a way?’ She asked with a smile, her father frowned.
‘The price is far too high for something like that.’ They soared over a forest as he then spotted smoke in the distance.
‘That’s odd, there shouldn't be anyone out this far.’ He said as Aurora looked over his head to look at the tall column of smoke, her father then started to turn around and headed back.
‘Dad? What’s wrong?’ The little girl asked a little scared as she held onto a spine on his back.
‘I don’t think that we should be here so we are going head back to the cave, I will need to check this out later tonight.’ He said and Aurora looked back to the area, a bit disappointed that they weren't going to have a look. Little did she know that her life was going to change because of that single visible campfire.
