A mask burned through his vision as he hung from the walls on his cell. He could feel hot tears trail down his cheek as he stared up at the masked murdered. He tried hard not to stare at the mangled body of his beloved, bruises tainted his body and blood painted his face. He frantically tried to break from his chain but only receive a bone chilling laugh.
" Hey it's okay beast. It'll be over soon and you'll be able to join your whore soon." The masked figure said as he walked towards the boy and held his hand.
"I'll be over soon...."
Dreamer screamed at the hand coming towards him.
" DREAMER"
The knight bolted up from his bed and contiuned his screaming. He thrashed around in his bed trying to get away from the hands that were trying to hold him.
" Dreamer, snap out of it! It's me! Astrael. Remember?"
He stopped his movement when he heard the voice. He immediately reached up in the dark to feel his face. Tears a relief left his blank eyes as he reached over to tightly hold onto the demon. His breathing was heavy as he tried to take in all that was happening.
The demon held the human in his arms. Comforting the boy as much as he could, " it's okay. He's gone. It's just you and me. We're safe. He can't hurt you or me anymore." He reminded Dreamer as he stroked through his curly hair.
The boy held on tightly onto Astrael, " I can still see his mask. His grotesque mask is all I see. It's the only thing I can see!" He cried out hysterically as he pressed himself harder against the demon.
Astrael just stared down as his human is despair. He wish he could help the boy forget but without real eye contact, there was nothing he could do but comfort and make the process a little better. He let out a relief sigh as he heard his human hysterical cries turn into sniffles and tired noises
"Are you better? Do you want to go back to sleep?" The demon asked as he stared down at the emotional wreck that was Dreamer.
The knight looked up with tired grey eyes, dark circles emphasized his exhaustion as he numbly nodded and laid back into other arms.
" You're going to stay with me right?" He asked very quietly.
Astrael sighed tiredly, " Yes, for the millionth time. I won't leave you."
The boy just nodded shyly and cuddle back. " o-okay, i'm sorry I'm just checking."
The demon nodded, " I know". He knew. Ever since they returned back home, Dreamer would ask twice, no matter was it was. He'd hoped after a while that it would go away but it seemed it would take time to fix the cracks that Addi had created in his mind. For now he wished that his human could had least get a good night sleep without screaming. But again, everything took time.
He held the knight in his arms as Dreamer started to drift off. It became easier to sleep now because he wasn't distracted on what he saw. He silently started forward sadly, with the lost of vision came the death of his knighthood. He had to depend on Astrael and others to lead him everywhere. His eyes fluttered as his thought started to drown in his sleep deprived mind.
Dreamer felt himself drift off in Astrael's arm. He mumbled out softly, " I love you, Ast."
The demon fixed their position into a sleeping position. He draped a light blanket on the human.
" Love you too. Now try to get some sleep."
With that his wings extended and laid over Dreamer in protection and they both laid together in a rare moment of peace. Finally in peace for a moment.
