"Trust... must be earned." Shadow spoke cautiously, choosing her words carefully. She sighed, almost in defeat. Shadow was a naturally trusting person, which is probably one of her worst flaws. Without hesitation, Shadow extended out her hand and said, "But I trust the cult. So I trust you."

Alyxrie shrugged yet again. It seemed like the best way to express what she felt. "I definitely don't trust the entire cult just yet, myself. I heard someone got burnt for asking too many questions. But for what it's worth, I trust you too." She hummed quietly for a few seconds and then said, quietly, "There are definitely far too many situations that may require trust from those you don't know too well yet."

"Can't be too careful," They sighed, allowing themselves to return to a more friendly stance. "You two are adorable talking about trust and such, seeing as you both seem so keen to do so." Neve's smile rose again. "Like kids learning about why you should stay away from strangers!'

Stunned into silence by Neve's response Shadow found her smile rising as she burst into laughter. Her shoulders shaking, she said, "we are kinda like kids huh?"

The comment on learning to keep away from strangers gave Alyxrie a strange sense of deja vu, but she shook the thought away. She pouted a little, and then joined Shadow in laughing. "Yeah, we are." She paused, and said, "What now? What were you doing before? We just kind of stumbled upon each other, huh."

Neve smiled, taking note of Alyxrie's pout, and tilted their head. They didn't quite understand what was so funny, but oh well. "I was watching the sky before you two came... what were you doing?"

"The night is the best time to be out, I suppose, but I heard that some people had found pages of some journal and might be looking for the cult, so I wanted to check if they were planning anything. I didn't see any of them before I saw you two, though." Alyxrie had laid down on her back while she was talking and was staring up into the sky. The stars were pretty.

"Journals?" Shadow questioned, sitting straight up. She remembered hearing whispers of mysterious pages revealing secrets detailing many of the cult members. "Have you found any?"

Alyxrie shook her head. "I haven't found any, and I don't know much about them other than that they're dangerous. I don't know how they found out about us, though."

"...journal pages..." Shadow muttered quietly, peering up at the glorious night sky. She pondered over the idea of journals foretelling the cults secrets, wondering what type of monster could create such a thing. She wondered if the cult need fear these pages. She said, "I wonder who made these pages."

Alyxrie hummed quietly. "I think that how they got information, if they have it at all, is a key factor in this. Did someone in the cult sell the rest of us out? Or are they using magic to track us? Or scoping us out individually?' She paused for breath and looked at the other two. It's harder for her to distrust people than it seems. She was still very apprehensive about the whole journal deal, and she wanted to pursue the matter, maybe try to find the author, but the truth was that she was scared. She'd never had the courage to speak up to most of the cult about it, almost always staying in the higher parts of the catacombs and trying to remain out of sight. Despite not being a "Snacrifice" any longer, she still felt like one and seemed to opt to act like one. "I suppose the last one is the most plausible. I mean, we don't tell anyone else our weaknesses that easily, so they must have learned through observation." Alyxrie finished her tirade, and paused. She trusted them, but she wasn't sure if her decision to share her views on the journal pages was the right one. 'Also, "journals"? Plural? How does Shadow know that there's more than one journal? I only knew about and mentioned "journal pages",' she thought to herself. 'It's possible that she only knows what the snacrifices whispered about.' "How much do you two know about them?"

Shadow fell silent, her eyes becoming cold. Its true she knew more about the journals than she let on, however she only knew of rumors- whispers the shadows give her. There are many who convey secrets believing they are alone, but they always have their shadows. Shadow smiled and shook her head, "Not really. Just some tall tales."

They frowned deeply. "I... don't think you should talk about those so freely," they muttered. "You might get caught." Neve glanced at Shadow. Their eye flashed brightly. "You both are frightening to be around. Not frightening like with Tapi, but.. don't run your mouths..."
((sorry for short replies I've been writing a lot lately and I'm kind of emotionally drained sorry))

Shadow giggled gleefully. "Thank goodness for that." She in response to not being as frightening as their fearful leader Tapi. "But I do see your point. Speaking freely of such taboo subjects is not something to be made a habit of." She nodded her head, presenting a mode of seriousness.

"Dearest leader could be anywhere," they sighed, glancing around. "The journals... are just something we should leave be, for now. I don't believe there's one of me, so that's why I have little interest." Neve blinked, slowly. "Hmm.."
