(( The basis of this is in Lydia's first or second time coming and seeing the state of things in the Cult, and deciding that she won't be able to live with herself unless she does something about the beasts being held here against their will. If you are a Beast or have one, by all means hop in at any time. After three pages of trying on one Beast, however, Lydia either gives up on them or will retreat for a bit, to mix things up. ))
Lydia stepped into the innocuous candle shop as always and instantly knew something was amiss down in the Cult. Everything was a mess, tossed around from struggling and several items in pieces on the ground. She pressed her way into the Cult's entrance as quickly as possible, her boots echoing hollowly as she descended. She had her staff with her as always, unfortunately, but for now was just in her work clothes, and with her at least slightly human appearance she lust hoped desperately that whatever force had pushed its way into the Cult would bypass over her for a little while.
It took maybe an hour for her to check the announcements board as usual, take a couple good looks around, and know for the most part had happened. It was overwhelming, but not so much that she wanted to leave; against all better instincts, she found one seat that wasn't completely ruined in the commons room and began to formulate her plan to free these poor "Beasts" from the Puppeteers that were here to not only ruin the Cult, but enslave masses of good and intelligent people. Whatever methods they were using to control their Beasts, it couldn't be too hard to break through with some meddling, right?
She broke out of her thoughts as she became aware of someone in her immediate vicinity, and stood from her chair, ready to fight.

Enfer was down on all-fours, since it was easier for him walk like this, a black collar around his neck from his "master" Vermiculus. His eyes were void of any life ever since he was branded after his gem was crushed before his eyes. His ears twitched when he heard a sound come from one of the rooms he passed and peeked inside curiously.

((Is Vermiculus with Enfer? Or was I correct to assume he's not))
Lydia's eyes widened at the sight of the dragon boy in such a demeaning position, her stomach churning at how weak his life energy was. It was mildly terrifying, but she resolved to clenching her fists. "Enfer?" she asked lowly. "What happened to you?" She stepped forward warily, ignoring the instincts in her body yelling for her to run in the opposite direction of the collared dragon. No matter what the cult leaders said, as a person she couldn't just kill this person she'd come to expect seeing around.
"Please tell me that you still have some free will left," Lydia said under her breath.

((You were right, he's not with Enfer))
The hybrid sat back on his hind legs, nodding as he kept his eyes to the ground, his tail curled around himself while dark scars where gashes were made stood out from his skin.

Lydia stiffened as the other got up on his back legs, but at least there were no signs of hostility. She stepped forward cautiously after a moment and no attack, and reached out a gloved hand to the hybrid. "I can't possibly imagine what you're going through, but I'm going to try and free you from this, okay?" she said, her voice quiet as she looked over the creatures. She could practically feel what injuries must have been inflicted to create such bold scars, and her mouth formed a thin frown.

"...it...hurts," Enfer said, his voice barely a whisper as he looked at the cult members hand, taking it as an affectionate gesture, seeing how Vermiculus would pet him every time he did something right. He sat up more opening his wings some to show multiple stitched and holes in them, meaning he could no longer fly.

Lydia nodded silently, wincing as Enfer displayed what as left of his wings. She drew back for a moment, removing the gauntlet and glove from her left hand before placing her palm over where the Puppeteer's unmistakable brand sat, a bright red that almost felt hot to the touch. Her skin tingled painfully at the contact, but she held it there, her eyes drooping as she tried to trace what exactly gave the marking its power.
A moment later, she recoiled, pure fear manifesting in her expression. No. It couldn't be; humans weren't supposed to be able to wield that type of magic. To become the instinctive part of the brain; the part of the brain that works on pure instinct, heedless of rhyme or reason. The things you couldn't push against, because they were the actions that you had no control over. "No," she whispered, her eyes wide. Her staff fell from her hand, clattering to ground with the sounds of metal poles clanging against one another. If she was going to revert this, she'd have to break the connection, but there were almost no primal instincts burrowed so deep that would overpower the existing bond.
Self-preservation against the threat of death (though, she had no will over that as she didn't hold the other end if the strings), and an incantation of even stronger power, breaking the preexisting bond by replacing it completely.

"please...Don't, Dante will get mad..." Enfer said in a quiet tone, backing away as he covered his brand.

Lydia frowned immediately. "Dante?" she echoed. "Is Dante the name of your 'Master'?" she asked, taking a spare moment to pick up her staff again.

"No...my other self...Master is Vermiculus...Dante makes me kill without reason..." Enfer said, keeping his distance from the girl as she picked up her staff. "Both him and master get mad if I don't obey orders..." Enfer's eyes flashed red and black for a brief second before shifting back.

Lydia stood, a little confused, but pushed away the temptation to ask irrelevant questions. "If he's your other self, then shouldn't he want to be free from this Vermiculus too?" she asked. "It seems a little bizarre to me that he wouldn't want you to be free again, especially with what they've done to you already.." In the back of her mind, a nagging voice pushed for her to act even if it was against the other's will, and she grimaced at how appealing that idea was becoming.

Enfer shook his head, whispering something to himself over and over again as his iirses dilated and his eyes turned red and black and his personality changed completely. "If I were you, I'd stop trying...I happen to prefer being on the winning side," Dante said, his voice higher pitched then Enfer as he bared his fangs with a snarl. "Enfer secretly wants this too, but he hides it well," Dante explained with a Cheshire Cat grin.
