"There, there," Chronic said while patting his arm. That wasn't too bad. "Are there puppeteers still within the cult?"

He nodded. "They're crawling though the cult." How the hell was he supposed to fight this? He'd never . . . he'd never fought the Puppeteers before. Never struck out against them. His blood froze. They were going to kill him. He was gone. Gone for good. "I'm not gonna live through this." Because Tapi sure as hell wouldn't save him like she'd done for the others.

"Sure you will!" Maybe. She'd like him to live. There weren't many people she tolerated and tolerated her in return. The light from before finally fell over them, illuminating their forms, as the reached the doorway leading back to the her rooms within the cult. A small, flickering light hung over the closed door while they stood in front of it. "How easily will it be for us to walk around undisturbed?" she asked.

The door slammed open, Tapi standing on the other side with a blank face and a mass of smoke writhing around her.
"We need to talk."

Blinking behind the mask, Chronic stared at the cult leader. "Oh good! You freed us! You have no idea how long we've been trapped within this closet." Neither did she. Time went differently within there.

Tea froze in anticipation. His jaw tightened as his fangs bit into his gums, eyes wide as he looked to the cult leader. Oh . . . fuck.
He was fucking dead.

"Cut the shit for once." She said in a monotone voice, her smoke expanding out even more. Tapi turned her head to look at Tea, the towering flame above her head flickering violently for a moment. "That I haven't charred you to ash and dumped your remains into the sewers yet means I'm on my last threads of patience. Don't push it."

"Honey, you know I won't," she teased as she stepped out between Tapi and Tea. "Now, I think we have some things to discuss."

Tea nodded, swallowing the bile rising up in his throat. He had to speak. Had to speak before Tapi decided he wasn't worth keeping around. He wasn't but . . . cult first. The cult came first. "I want to help-p."

"He wants to help" she mocked, voice still emotionless yet managing to be sarcastic all the same. "Smart move traitor. Going and hiding behind the one person I'd rather not fight." At that she bared her teeth in a snarl and turned around, walking away from the two and further into the room they're entered in. "Don't think this means you aren't going to be punished."

Chronic rolled her eyes as she came out of the closet. "As much as I love the conflict, I think we, well you two, have more important things to discuss."

Tea shuddered. He liked to think he could handle punishment. But . . . Tapi was very different from Liam. He was . . . unused to anything she could dish out. "I understand-d," he stammered. "But-t . . . I . . .," he clamped his mouth shut, losing what he was going to say entirely. Instead he offered, "I'll do whatever I have to to get them out of here."

At that she spun around and within seconds was a mass of hissing smoke before him, blue and orange eyes glaring at him through tinted shades. "ONE THING. THE ONE THING I HATE MOST IS IMBECILES WHO CAN'T CHOOSE A SIDE." Her smoke coiled around his throat, as if it could slip through his skin and down into his lungs. "YOU HAD A JOB, YOU HAD A SIDE. YOU SHOULD HAVE STUCK TO IT BEFORE . RUINING . MY . THINGS . " Her words were a shout, a cacophony of mismatched voices that practically filled the room as for once the cult leader towered over the giant. "I WOULD KILL YOU NOW IF I KNEW YOU WOULDN'T LIKE IT."

Tea stopped breathing, flailing as he had no way of grabbing at the entity trying ti choke him. He inhaled some of the smoke and started wheezing, skin burning as tears gathered and poured from his cracked eyes. "N-no . . . choice," he gasped before staring at her, eyes pleading with her though he didn't know what for. He didn't want this. He hadn't wanted this. Those words repeated within him like a broken record, and he was just as helpless as he had always been. Living at the mercy of cruel, enraged masters.

Watching the two wasn't nearly as fun when she was being ignored. It's always the young and pretty ones that get attention, she thought amused. She took her time walking over toward Tapi and wrapped an arm around the shorter's shoulders. "I'd appreciate it if you let Tea go. I kind of like him and leaving him alive and well would be in your best interests."
