"So," Tea squinted, "if," such crude questions came to mind and he shivered in shame thinking about asking them. "If I injured them or . . . somehow exchanged fluids," he hated that word, it just sounded disgusting, "would-d that do it? Do I need more of you tar?" His blood could be teaming with it for all he cared. He trusted Chronic not to use him unless absolutely necessary.

Chronic shook her head. "No. You don't need more of it. It can self-create and disperse. You barely need anything to taint a person. As for exchanging fluids, blood is preferable unless you want to give him a piece of flesh or a nice big kiss that includes a projectile of tar coming from your throat." She snickered. "But if you prefer," she reached into her robes and pulled out a dagger of solidified tar. "You can just cut him with this. Even a nick would do the job."

Tapi raised her eyebrows at the weapon and let out a low whistle. "Well aren't you prepared. Hey traitor, go stab your Master with that. Get on your knees and beg him for mercy then stab it into that useless junk he calls genitals." She slumped back against the chair and huffed. "We need to get your Tar in them soon. Shit's getting too messy."

Tea took the knife with quivering hands, committing everything she'd told him to memory. Sliding the dagger into the inside pocket of his god awful coat, he murmured, "As soon as I can." His eyes cast down, he tried not to think of the lives that had been lost. The creatures who had been captured and branded and already forced to submit. He . . . he squeezed his eyes shut. This had to end.

"As nice as this is, I think we need a back up plan or at least gather some help to pull away any protection around the main puppet guy," she pointed out. She tilted her head toward Tapi. "Any bright ideas, little lady?"

"Smoke them out" she said with a straight face. "I'd rather burn down everyone and everything here and start from scratch then let them win. I've avoided these assholes since they first started because I was on my own and" she paused, looking down at her hand that shifted from flesh to a claw of smoke. "Anytime they managed to stumble across me I just cut them down. Now however I have a surplus of souls I have to manage, and doing so without a surplus of bodies is tedious. So either this plan works or your jobs going to be picking up soon Chronic."

"God you're dramatic," and have no care for life. "Do you not care for the ones that are still in this place that are alive? You could save them, rally them up and actually face these puppets. You know, be a leader."

She laughed and leaned forward, arms back to normal and flame flickering slightly. "You think I actually started all this because I'm a kind and caring person? Chronic you flatter me. No. It's better to wipe the slate clean."

Tea snapped, "That's not what I came to you to help support?!" He covered his mouth, glancing at the door before his eyes darted to either being. He shouldn't have yelled. Someone might have heard.

"No, I thought you started it because you were a lonely, pathetic child that needed some sense of control in her life. Someone to look at you in awe and respect you. I thought you would want to keep that power and reinforce it with saving their lives. You did put so much time and effort into them," she spat. She pushed herself up and leaned against the wall. "Or maybe you want to get rid of them because all you can see is yourself in them?...Or you know you can't protect them. You're already cutting yourself off from them so the pain won't be too much to bare."

Tapi tilted her head at Chronic slightly. "Ouch. Right here Chronic." She said, putting a hand to her heart. "You hurt me. Right here. So much pain at those prettily cruel words." Tapi sneered and dropped her hand. "Trust me when I say half the time I don't even know why I started this thing up. All I know is that I need the souls and that there's plenty more to be had." She paused and the sneer slipped off her face. "I don't want to do it you know. I don't actually want to kill them all. It's annoying to do so and the least optimal thing." The cult leader sighed and dropped her head against the back of the chair. "We can come up with a different back up plan, but if that one fails too then I'm cleaning house. Deal?"

The masked woman eyed Tapi for a moment as she slipped the strange information to the back of her mind. "Fine." For the most part, she didn't care if they succeeded or not, but there were a few that she rather not have dead yet. "Do either of you know where any cult members are?"

Tea bristled. If he'd wanted more death and carnage, he would have just stayed loyal to the Puppeteers. He didn't want to see anyone else hurt. He refused to tolerate it any longer. "I will never support the massacre of many in favor of saving a few." He never had, not even when he was acting on orders. "You can use me as a living puppet if you have to, not like I'm not used to it. This plan is going to work on way or another." He looked at Chronic. "If I knew for certain where they were I'd say. But things have been hectic and recent orders and circumstances have made details fuzzy for me."

"They're being held on the west side of the manor." was her almost lazy response as she stayed reclined against the chair. "I scouted out the place through the air vents before I came to rip Tea to shreds." Tapi sighed and sat up, eyeing the two tiredly behind her shades. "There's a surplus of them that've been captured. I would say it's best to at least rescue those captured before they can be branded." Like a few of the cultists she actually cared for. The thought had her flame spiking and eyes shifting to black for a minute. "We don't need anymore enemies to fight."

"That should be simple enough. One of us can go break them out. Preferably Tapi or I," Chronic voiced. "Tea needs to stay 'loyal' to the pups so he can get close to the big guy." If they were lucky, they could probably do this without raising too much of an alarm. "Was it guarded?"
